Feline Witch Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 The thing that is supposed to be the biggest improvement of AM 2005 is hair. From what I hear, it is a lot easier to create realistic or interesting looking hair. This sounds very interesting to me. I want to give my characters very weird hairdos, from Lazuli's hip length black and peacock blue hair, to Dreamer's explosion of beads and braids. But will it transfer to a game engine with the Obsidian exporter? Quote
mediaho Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Just to expand on that, I don't think there's a program out there that lets you export the software's hair to a game formet. Usually, if you want hair it either has to be modeled to look like hair (using layers and alpha transparencies, sometime with a basic spring/mass system) or you have to write or buy a hair/fur shader. Feline Witch Posted March 29, 2005 Author Posted March 29, 2005 Damn. So I have to model and texture hair? That kinda sucks. Thank you anyway. Quote
ragtag Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 There are only two exceptions. If you're making a 2D game, you can render out the sprites in AM using all the features in AM, including Materials, Hair, Particles etc. etc. The other is if you have a time machine that can take you into the future. Feline Witch Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 Well, I suppose if I model the hair, I can make some really crazy hairdos! Quote
