Hsdhman
Hullo I've been modelling a BMW Z4. The front is almost done. I'm rather excited because this is the first time I've been able to actually model something that looks like it is supposed to! **creases in the middle because its just a copy/flip job (Im using the Rooftop Mayhem scene because i like the lighting and i'm lazy.) (ignore the stuff inside the headlight hole) Here's a reference picture i'm using: Any comments?
Grubber
Could you post a wireframe? I like your BMW!
ZachBG
With all this amazing BMW work going on, I'm starting to think BMW should sponsor A:M or something! Zach
Gerry
but surely you're using top-front-side views for rotos, right? Or are you the kind of maniac that can model this with only one photo?? Nice work so far!
Hsdhman
Here's some wireframes : I probably won't have time to work on it much today... way too much english homework to do. BTW - My rotos are getting scaled WAY down in quality by A:M - as you can see, they appear very blocky and pixelated. When I render the viewport, however, they appear smooth as the original images. Any ideas? I tried several video drivers from v28-v52 (geforce 4 ti 4400), but nothing keeps them at a high resolution. I even tried scaling up the images themselves, then re-loading them into A:M, but that didn't work. I'm not sure how long this has been happening, but I notice it in A:M v 8.5 all the way to 9.0 (which I'm currently using)
Mega
Very impressive. Cars are not easy to model, but you are doing a really nice job on this! Are you useing .jpg's for the roto's? Have you tried .tiif or .tga files? What's the hardest part so far for you to model?
lazarter
I've seen so many car forums lately, and the all look great. I was wondering if anyone whould write up a tutorial? It would be so cool and I would be so thankful. Good Job!
