  1. Actualy they don't seem to have much in the way of character animation, but they have a nice renderer. And the modeler and renderer are seperate purchases unless you go PRO edition... upgrade isn't always going to be free either... only if you get PRO.

  2. I wasn't aware there were any other 3d apps like A:M. Not that I need to know that now, but I'm curious to see their "list" now... just for giggles. WHO? send me a P.M.-- I really want to see this...

  3. it's a little lacking in clearity... the stop and look part is to fast... I don't get a chance to see their expressions or faces very clearly. The idea and characters are beautifuly done and the lighting is good... why not give them some motions that warrent their characters... I understand the dynamix stuff isn't working properly.

  4. Have you looked into just repeating the action? and changing the chor start values?

it's in the properties of the "shortcut to character" on the name of the action, click then you'll get the properties for the action so you can manipulate it in the CHOR.

If it's a thing where you want the blink at certain places in time just scrub through your animation and note the times and keep dropping the action in.

I hope you actually made a keyframe of the action with eyes open in the first frame... then made them closed, then opened them up again. That's actually harder than doing it with poses. In an action you don't automatically start on the clear pose then progress to 100% at your keyframe.

    Hope I explained that right...

  5. What about Jeff Lee's Skylight rig utility? Instead of having to go online to do what could be done from disk? It may not be a good idea, but it's just an idea.

I don't have any models to speak of that use the 2001 rig or Anzivon TSM rigs. I built the rig myself and it's riddled with fan bones and constraints. The bones have a different naming convention, also. So I guess that leaves me out for characters.

  6. You are an inspiration... and you draw so well! You are certainly meeting your challenge! I've redesigned a few characters clothes... no sweat at this stage I am at though.

Fay, I don't think will have the same look as the mother in any way... one is ethereal tones... the other based on human tones.

  7. You could post it in work in progress section of this forum... the button will appear below the post text box when you create your thread.

The only other way is to post your messege with the address of the image file, which you will have to upload to your own webspace. You would use the "IMG" button to enter the address in your post.

  8. Hubukai,

After I saw that, I wished I had gotten an AMD! Although I am happy with the performance of my box, it just would have been cheaper. And If I knew that Hash was going to seriously be able to deliver a MAC OS X version 11 A:M... I think I would have went MAC... Shhhhhhh! Don't tell Vern I said that.

  9. You would have to reduce the lenth of the tail. That seems to work on most streaks... but if you are varying the tail size during the animation a few might slip by when the tail length is longer it's size.

  10. Great! Why not? It's the best way to get a good bunch together for modeling lots of things users are needing... we may need to have more of a prize to shoot for... like 1st, 2nd, and 3rd... because there are sure to be so many varied types of styles of modeling out there. Just having 1 winner might be too narrow.

Don't mean to be so technical about it, but we are talking about only MODELING here. Wish there was a contest for rigging and texturing also... or is that included in this contest?

  11. John!!! Okay, I get the messege!

I like to do things that look realistic, but I still find your way of modeling of help to me also... "getting a lot done very quickly", I seem to be quite a "sloth", lately. Your voice is very calm... how do you say all of that without stuttering or gaps in memory?

  12. Oh My God!!!!! Excellent!!!!! Works on "Nvidia Geforce FX 5950 U" even has 8x for AA and anisotropic setting there too... anisotropic????... do I need that? I never thought of using the hardware settings, it was on default which I guess is whatever the application uses or is made to use... GREAT!! Thankyou.

  14. The final render is not complete, but heres a look at what I have so far...

*Edit: I've also recently made note of the extreme nature of these expressions... as I created them they are truly too extreme for a realistic character and I plan on using them at 50% or less... anything more and he becomes an OVERactor- almost cartoonish.

  15. Beautiful... I love it... especially with the colorized skylight/and dome setup. That would make a good default "beauty rendering" set up.

  16. Your RIGHT! He does resemble him... he is the lead actor so I thought about adding some neuances from actors that people see all the time, so they feel comfortable with him. After all he is going to have a lot of screen time in my script... Thanks for pointing that out... I almost forgot about that aspect of making characters.

    *Edit:

I tried to get the intensity of the shape of his eyes and brow... Don't ask me where I'm getting the lips from...
