You had my vote on that one. But I'm an odd duck anyway (oooo, there's a character to model).
I thought it stuck to the theme better than others, but perhaps as was mentioned before, perhaps it lacked visual qualities that appeals to the others who voted. Or not.
Since I voted for it, perhaps I'm in no position really to offer the answers you seek.
I'd like to see that guy in another contest though. Make his presence known until he's a winner!!!

I know this is off topic, but I know some of you have to have used Quicktime Pro.
I'm trying to save my video in the sorenson 3 codec, but when I do, it drops the audio and I can't find how to fix that.
Anyone?? Help, please.

Good one. Smooth. I agree with your wife regarding his face.
A few tune ups here and there, but as it stands, it's good. IMHO.
-
COOL!!
I love octopii. They're cool. I'm sure even cooler to animate.
I can't wait.
Are you gonna make him/her flash different colors as well?
-
Nice fish. His friends are gonna hate him though.
Good animating. You kept him moving about just right.
Makes me wanna go watch the extras DVD of Finding Nemo.
-
Excellent job.
What kind of lighting did you use there? Looks wonderful.
Lookin' forward to the completed tiger.
-
Excellent job on all of those entries.
That's something that perhaps more people (myself especially) should try more often to hone them animating skills.
A good model is nothing if not animated correctly and vice-versa.
I bookmarked your page so I can check your entries out regularly. Maybe this winter, I'll compete against you.
BTW, what time (and zone) do they start? I'm in Alaska, so if it starts at 4:00 Pacific time, it's 3:00 here and I wouldn't be home for a couple more hours. Maybe I'll have to call in sick on those days.

Gongrats Noel. Good times ahead.
After everyone else's software puns, I was going to make some comment about a dongle. Instead, I'll just let Vern giggle about my saying "dongle".
-
Wow!!!
What can I say? That was pretty cool.
You all did a good job. Kudos to you all. And thanks for sharing.
-
I agree, that was well done.
I noticed the detail to the eyebrows as well. Definitely brought out more emotion in his speech. Not just flat and dull. Good job.
-
You'll get that bark material down I'm sure. And when you do, he'll be one good lookin' tree.
I like him so far. Looks pretty good.
-
Just how I would picture a slug, 'cept much cuter.
Good job.
Now entertain us with some action. He looks too stiff.
-
Oh yeah!!
I'd like to see the camera low with the scorpion snapping at the camera. Nice work, should be scary enough when you finish it.
-
Scary. In a good kind of way.
Should be easy to animate with her being all stiff and all.

Hey, I'm trying to get a short piece of somewhat convincing dialog for my short.
I tried to get my wife to do this for me, but she just can't do it. I needed her to scream and express some emotion, but it sounds like she's presenting a new product line instead.
Anyone know of where I could request such? Any takers here?

I now know why people always model cars, bikes have allot more mechanical detail on show, tougher to model.
I haven't modelled either, but I would definitely say it looks like the bike would be harder, but I think the bike looks cooler though.
Keep us posted when you get the other decals added and any improvements you make.
-
Lookin' good.
I notice the engine is somewhat hidden behind the cowling. Is the engine fully modelled? Or not, since it isn't in view?
How about a view from different angles?

Cool, I'll have to check those out. Thanks guys! Maybe see if they have those $5 sound effects CD's too.
-
Thanks Wade.
It's pretty much all there. Looks not bad, but sound effects are definitely needed and something to fill in the dead air in between.
-
Hey all, I've finally gotten to getting my animation together, but now I'm in need of good sounds (i've got some, but some lame ones as well). I'm also looking for possibly some good background music perhaps.
Here's my intro . . . as a teaser.

Mmmmmmmmmm, 10.5r? Will have to grab that.
It was crashing at editing and rendering.
I did find the problem after eliminating a little of this and a little of that.
Somehow one of my constraints went wacky. It used to be an "aim at" constraint of my characters hand to another object. Somehow it got changed to be aiming at the name of the choreography instead. The chor. name was "scene 6-2" and the aim at was pointing to "6-2". Weird!!
All is well now. Still gotta get V11 though. I just have a hard time upgrading when the current version does what I need it to (aside weird aimings).
-
I have a choreography that worked fine for months and then as I've revisited it, the darn thing causes A:M to disappear (not crash, I did not say crash here).
I've deleted any non viewable items from the choreography (as should've been done anyway) and still no change.
Anyone have this happen before? Any ideas?

That was awesome. Had to watch it a dozen times with my daughters. They loved it!!
The movement of all the characters is classic. And I love the afro at the end.
BTW, what's the commercial for??
-
That video clip is awesome. I love the movement of the hair.
Too bad about the crashing and losing the hair, but at least you got the model saved.
Let us know when all is back to normal. I'd like to see some more testing. Maybe see her jump up and down a whole lot. For the hair movement, of course.

I've finished my latest project ('bout time I say).
The 160 x 120 version is at AM:Films.
http://amfilms.hash.com/search/entry.php?entry=850
For those with more bandwidth, there's a 320 x 240 video at this address: http://gutterbrothersllc.com/video/
I welcome all feedback, however I am finished with this project and will move on. So if you don't see your comments being used to fix the video, it's not that I didn't listen. In fact, I'll likely use everyones suggestions for future videos.
