  1. I know nothing about text program, fortunately I always work in a clean prj and save all objects individually if possible.

I learned my lesson in version 8.5 but never have it since ver 10.5 and upgraded to 11. Though it hang when I have huge texture maps but I over come by deleting some of it tempolarily or create a much lighter copies while working.

  2. I am hoping to see some different texture map arrangement from other user, here is the head so far, need to fix the seam along the center parting, did a map for it but ended up blur.

A transparency were used to cut a hole for the ears to blend in. This way I don't have to disrupt the head geometry.

There is a way to save a texture map for the partings but have to adjust the bias handles, quite tedious.

  3. 3D painting will be part of a modeler program in the future, like body paint, Zbrush...... it is hard even for experienced artist to go back and forth between programs especially painting animals with stripes or scales.

Due to texturing hassle, I export it as obj and no longer part of AM model anymore.

More over, AM hook / five point patch is the obstacle to utilize existing 3d painting tools. I bought rigging tutorial fo $30.00, yours is a plug-in tool that every modeller can benefit from.

*As a full time 3d artist, I strongly recommend it.

  4. I can handle PS, just the UV mesh separation and texture alignment that are hard, you have to take a best guess and go back and forth to see if the hair size and direction not to mention tonal value is correct.

This is the hardest part in AM I think, here is the tiger with out the stripe yet, I will post my uv arrangement later.

  5. Thank you so much, I have been twisting a spiral like a snake in the past. I thought its not possible to do that in AM after so many years, so I bought a substitute prg for the job.

Next, I'll be waiting for the actual input coordinate to all kinds of geometrical shapes from the generous users here. :D:D

  6. So it has turned out to be a concern about selling models in PRJ.

I am interested too, high quality models/ textures/ effects for AM, OBJ and Ztl, yes Zbrush too.

I have been thinking of it two years ago but only in OBJ, since AM version 11 and the revolutionary Ztools, I have re-arranged my production pipe line but still in my dreams.

This is how I see it, before long many things in cyberspace will be made easy, though modeling is not too difficult but a high quality optimisezed model is not so easy in AM ( bias handles, every one? ) not every one is an artist, or experienced in realistic texturing.

Q: How much are you going to sell?

A: Affortable, like $10.00 to $25.00 per model and possibly a killer package of older models.

    Q: What about piracy?

A: As long as you continue to produce new archive ( enough subjects for more than one life time can achieve ), this issue does not arise.

Q: What if there is not enough business to maintain production?

A: It should not be treated as full time in the first place, there will be other formats of the same models for a wider audiance.

Not just poser user, e-publishing is on the rise and more 3d user is pouring in, 3d is for every one and no age restrictions. Imagine 3d graphics as dictionaries replacing the one we have.

  7. I agree with the comments, in fact, its the second time I introduce AM to my second employer, the first was about four years ago producing 3D stills for children's book and now going into animations for interactive courseware.

AM is the choice because of the cost to begin with, further more I am just a beginner and I was the first to use introduce 3d to low cost publishing in Asia.

Five years has past and there is still no competitors to the series of 12 books I produce, most art schools is teaching high end 3d software but not many of there graduates can handle the complete process, that is being able to do every part from begining to completion.

So, apart from selecting a suitable 3d prg, you must also be competant in what you do before you offer yourself to the industry. So, if you want to know if AM is good enough for the job? The answer is clear.

  8. Have you use material before? only material will have all those settings not from a decal.

The tutorial is in the ver.11 reference new feature, you need to specify the type of influence in the property driven if I am not mistaken, just anothe step from where you are.

  9. I have tried the preset of sprite emitters like and smoke, the settings in material window is a general behavior and others is in the choreo. If I adjust individual emitters associated with texture map like colors and others in a given time, those info will lost after I click the save project button or save it via dropdown menu.

Either way, I have never been able to save any time based adjustments except the main emitter, is this not an intended feature? or am I missing something... :(
