  1. >This is kind of a fake; I'm only doing half and will CFA when it's closer to being done. I just put two instances of the model in the chor and scaled one of them -100 on the x axis.

Can you tell me what I am possibly doing wrong?

Nice model, hope you are going to animate him soon. Are you using the setupmachine?

  2. Hi Jim,

Thank you for sharing your outstanding work!!

Its probably somehow inadequate and will make me the

"bad guy of the week", when I ,as the only here, add some minor critic,

in spite of the fact, that I am very far away from your standard.

But nevertheless I think the posing lacks a little bit of suspense.

Frazetta would have put the hero a little further down in his knees , bow him forwrd a bit and maybe have step his frontfood a little higher on some stone or something and made the guy a little bigger and more muscular and maybe look more over his shoulder .

And the Queen would push her pelvis a little bit more forwrd and bent her back and have a more alluring look on her face.

I think that small details made Frazetta`s work so oustanding, compared to his "stiffer" colleagues like for instance Boris Vallejo.

Please don`t kill me for this. I don`t mean to offend anybody.

In contrary I am a great admirer of your work and maybe my critic has the root in that some things can`t be reached with 3D but only in a painting.

Then to reach Frazetta would be another thing again.

  3. Yes, but a while ago, somebody in the wip-section complained about a guy showing his contest entry beforehand. So this way is rather problemtic and not " official".

Second it shows also wips, that would be offtopic to the contest.

  4. Hi everybody,

I would suggest to change the execution of the Hash picture-and animation-contests to the way it is handled at for instance cgtalk or other forums.

Its much more fun to participate, if you can follow how each participant progresses in eaches thread along the contest and to share pictures and comments between each other on the way.

Or would this be technical to difficult to realize?

    Jake :)

  5. I tried to render out a wireframe or shaded wireframe and got a :

    "failed init bound render info".

Any help in this issue anybody?

Anyway here are some more pictures and a closeup.

Thank you for the friendly comments.

( I just copied one half and flipped it for the time being.

Copy flip attach I leave till I think the model finished.)

  6. Very nice modell!

Here is my personal opinion , what could even make this a little bit better.

I would make his shoes a lot bigger , his hair black and more bushy, maybe he lacks a little bit of upper-head there and naturally his bowed back and halfclosed eyes add a lot to the typical "Gastonpose"

  7. That`s very interesting.

Is there a tutorial in English somewhere around how this would be done? Is the cooperation with lightwave even still necessary nowaddays , since AM has improved over the last two years?

Where can I get this Magicalplay Ova?

I think the most important fact about this is really, that this could be done by one person, instead of twenty up to 80 people for a regular production like this...

  8. Hey Yves,

I like your work very much and I agree with you that your first headversion looked

slightly too big, but sorry in my opinion now it looks way too small , killing that stylized Mike James cute pin-up girl look and going in the direction of one of these overtrained body-building girls.

It might not be the right thing to aim at realistic proportions with the head, when the whole figure is unrealistic.......

You surly know the french Cartoon-artist Dani and his sexy girls?

Thats the extreme end of the proportions your first version resembled a little at first, and which I think matches better for sexy pinup-girls style.

Maybe you should look at it again after some time and reconsider.

Another thing: How do you plan to use this model later on?

Won`t it be a copyrightproblem then, when you used a figurine of Mike James

or Emma Peel for modeling ?

Maybe that`s another thread, but I am just interested, if one could run into problems there.

As I said, my critic has nothing to do, which that I admire your genius modeling very much.
