  1. I had and idea for the lion's role in the movie, I assume he's just a statue, right? What if his eyes move around or twitches once in awhile (or is in a different pose each time you see him) when other characters walk by him. He's pretending to be the lion statue, but all the other characters think he's a real statue. He snuck on the set and replaced the statue, because he wanted to be in the movie. We could have a quick scene in the beginning of him complaining that he's not in the movie and one at the end where you see him moving the statue out of the way so he can take the statues place. Just a thought.

I've had several ideas about the lion's role in the movie as well. One a lot like yours mtpeak but instead of a short scene in the beginning a trailer or promotional short film type thing where the lion is called and basically told he will not be in the next Oz film. And then throughout the film he'd be sneaking onto the set and dragged off in the background or chased off the scene or something. Kinda like a prolonged chase scene between the camera crew and the lion occuring every so often. So ya, just a few ideas as well. Is there anyone specific I should talk to or collaborate with on ideas like this? Little funny yet subtle things happening during the film and stuff like that.

I can help out with some of the weighting and riggin of the tail if you'd like. Cool. Later-

  2. If you do want to change your forum name:

Contact Will Pickering (willp@hash.com) and he'll get you changed.

    Awesome! Thanks Rodney!

Hey mtpeak2! Sorry it took so long, but its sent! Enjoy!

Glad I could work on this project. Is there any way I can work on the trailers and stuff? Ok! let me know! Thanks! Later-

  3. Well, I'm pretty sure its done! Unless you guys have any more suggestions, buuuut I think I've got it. :D This version is just with a simple color scheme. I dont have photoshop or an understanding on how to texture it so (if it needs to be) someone can take over that job. Should I email it to somebody or should I just post the model file? Cool! Thanks! Later-

  4. Wow, you should be pleased with yourself.

    Thanks!

I hope Bob sees him.Ha, ha! That is Bob's lion! Well done, Robert! :-) I hope Bob sees him.

Thanks. So wait. Any news on if bob is going to be coming back to this project and when?

Say, I wonder if I could borrow his feet for the legs of the Tinman's throne?

Sure can! You want me to send you the model via email, post the model file, etc?

    Great work... great character Xtas!

Umm... Im not Xtas. Im xade. lol. Speaking of which though, Is there a way to change the name to something else? I was at one point gonna make a character called xade. But now Id rather just use my own name. If not. Whatever.

Heh. Funny. But it makes sense for Tinman to have elements of his friends round him.

That or he needs a lion rug in the castle. That'd be kinda funny. Or this guy stuffed in a corner... maybe not. lol

Hmm, where could we put Dorothy's feet.

We could always put them on the tinman? Or... well... ok. Maybe thats a bad idea too. lol

So, I think Im pretty much all done! :D . I am quite enthused. So! Umm here he is. Let me know if there's anything I should still do or what you think. Cool? Cool. Oh, and I have yet to do teeth. Which is what I have a question about. What kind of teeth should I make for this guy? Human teeth? Lion teeth? Or a nice combination of the two? Cool! Let me know, thanks! later-

  5. The work is looking good, xade.

Thanks! I appreciate it. Ya, I didnt see you continuing work on it... so i thought i could take a stab at it.

Anyways, I got to work on it some more and I added the feet, the tail, and the arms. I worked on the chest hair a bit but I still have to make it look less symmetrical i think. All that I have left to model though are the hands which I will hopefully get a chance to do soon.

In the meantime, I did a quick color test on the model to see how things are lookin. I think I'm pretty pleased with how its goin. Let me know what you guys think of it so far. Cool! later-

  6. I have yet to work on it some more today so I havent added or changed anything yet.

mtpeak2 you are right, I agree that the chest hair looks too symetrical so I will be changing it.

zandoriastudios, I honestly dont know how it would look. It would be a totally different style. I can imagine it looking good. But I've never used the hair features in A:M so I wouldn't have a clue on how to get it to look right. That would be awesome if you'd be willing to advise me on how to go about doing it. Thanks!

Here's a quick turnaround with the wireframe for you to look at. I've got lots of work I have to do today so I dont think I'll be able to get in an update on the model today but we'll see.

The patch count right now is at 2403.

  7. Ok, so here's my progress from this afternoon. All that's left is the arms, hands, feet, and tail and I'll be about done! Alright! Any suggestions, critiques, comments, whatever dont be afraid to post them.

Oh, and martin. do you want me to send you an email with the TWO contract thing (i just read it) even though this character may not be used in the actual movie? Ok, thanks! later-

  8. I think your Lion is very good. Keep going.

Yes sir! :D . Thanks. Okay then, I'll keep workin on this model and posting updates when i can. Later-

  9. That problem you said you had has happened to me in the past with models with too high a patch count. Like rediculously high numbers. That plus textures n such. My computer like can't handle it and'll shut down whenever i try to open them. BUT. Anyways. That's looking really good Zaryn. even better WITH the armor (which looks TOTALLY cool). Sooo... ya! Great work! Can't wait to see the finished image. Later!

  10. Cool! Thanks Paul! Ya, I was kinda keeping an eye on OdinsEye2k's thread, but since it hasn't really been updated much, I figured I'd ask. Well, I started a new thread soo... let me know what you think! Cool! Later!

  11. Cool! So, I started working on the lion model. I started yesterday and got to where I am now. Actually, all the work I've done was from yesterday, I'm gonna have to change that I think lol. Wow, I got pretty far for one afternoon. I guess I just kinda lost track of time listening to music and workin on A:M. I swear listening to music makes me like twice as productive. Aanyways, here's what I got so far. I've been workin off the model sheet by bob for the most part. I have yet to finish his hair and his chest hair. Along... with... well everything else that has to get done. lol So ok! Here's what I got. Let me know if you like it so far. later-

  12. Wow, time flies. Well, I'm back. And I made a rig for my character. I learned a lot from your face rigging tutorial thanks a WHOLE lot for sharing the link for it david. You rock. So here's a clip of the rig I made in action. Or at least at the arm. One more question, I have half the body rigged. Is there a way to copy and flip all the relationships and bones that I've got to rig the other side? I know there is, I just haven't figured it out yet i guess.

Oh, and when i finish rigging it would you want it for the next A:M CD or somethin?Cool! let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

  13. Looks good so far, just some CP weighting issues at the shoulders, elbows, knees and hips that I saw.

Wow I read through your squetch rig thread itsjustme. That's a whole lot of work you've put into that i really want to try it out. It'd be cool to understand rigging as well as you do. I dont understand setting up IK/FK relationships or how to assign a null into a rig and CP weighting . Its waaay over my head at this point. lol.

Sooo in the meantime I've just been workin with what I've got. I've made another quick animation. A roll type action. Let me know what you guys think. Fluidity of motion and whatnot. Cool! Thanks guys! Later-

  14. Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it. Here's an animation clip I just did. Its just a simple run test. Lemme know what you think.

Oh. And Zaryin, what’s the squetch rig and the FACE rig? I don’t really understand the whole art of rigging and constraints and stuff and it’d be cool to be able to make working rigs on my own. Thanks! Cool. Later-

  15. Hey everybody. Whats goin on? I haven't posted much lately, last thing I was doing was working on my "jaguar xk" car but my computer crashed and I lost the file. Kindof a bummer, but I'll get over it. So, I was gettin kinda tired with just modeling and wanted to get to animating. So I made a basic character that'd be pretty easy to animate. Its all rigged and stuff but just with the TSM2 rig (no smartskin or fan bones or nuthin). I figured I'd put it up here for comments and critiques and if you guys want it later I could donate it to the forum or the next CD or somethin. K. Cool. Lemme know what you think. Later-
