  1. I do like the idea of Tinwoodman changing clothes/parts allot. What if he was a "Fashionista" and one of the gags was that in every other scene he had some new accessory or clothing item (maybe not every other scene ;-) but then you could do some funny things where Scarecrow and Woot start looking odd at him, and he's like "What?".

    The issue I see with this (other than the necessity of multiple texturings of the Tin Woodman) is that a new scene and/or new dialog would be needed to explain a sudden change in appearance. He can't be purple one night, then shiny tin the next morning without some explanation for continuity. Maybe at his first appearance in a new color have Scarecrow make a passing remark about his affinity for different colors to Woot. Or Woot could ask when he sees a different color for the first time. Either of these would make sense in that Woot is a newcomer in this instance and is standing in for the audience in learning about the Tin Woodman. Then if he changes later, the audience has something to fall back on for it to make sense.

  2. Something you might want to check while working on this is the scale compared to the characters. Drop the Ku-Klip model in there and see if it looks like his workshop. When I started work on scene _1_04_30, I found that the workshop proxy was way too big to be his workshop, tables were as tall as the character. Ku-Klip is much shorter than the other characters and his workshop would be scaled to him, not the others. A workbench that Ku-Klip would stand at would only be above the Tin Woodman's knees. Even if the space is scaled for the others, things like workbenches, forges, etc. should be scaled to Ku-Klip. He's the one that built it and works there.

  3. I don't currently have a TWO assignment. Please sign me up for a scene. :D

    Rhett,

    I posted my final take on scene _1_04_30. If you feel that there is something more to do on that one, let me know and I will continue work on it.

  4. This is an odd problem Richard.

    You might have to delete the "ken's Hallway" folder from your hard drive and then do a clean-up and update to replace it.

    If you'd like to call me about this, PM me and I'll send you my phone number.

    Rhett

    I can copy the problem folder/delete it/commit it/replace it/re-commit it if it helps.

    I tried deleting the folder, the problem just sort of moved up the directory structure. It allowed me to cleanup, but the update failed. Looks like there may be a version issue between the SVN and TortoiseSVN. I went back to TortoiseSVN 1.3.2, Build 5840 - 32 Bit and the update and commit went through without a problem. Someone with more knowledge of SVN than I have should probably look into this. TortoiseSVN pops up a message that there is a newer version, that's how I ended up with TortoiseSVN 1.3.5, Build 6804 - 32 Bit. Maybe everyone needs to be warned about upgrading until we know more about this problem.

    Rhett, there's a new take on _1_04_30 now that the commit went through. :)

    Thanks for everyone's help,

    Richard

  5. Try deleting those 7 *.tmp files and then do a cleanup.

    I tried deleting the files and then cleanup, the cleanup still failed. I even tried moving the current TWOdata directory and receiving it all again to a new directory. The receive failed with similar errors.

    I am going to remove the TortoiseSVN 1.3.5, Build 6804 version and re-install the 1.3.2 version that was working.

  6. I just did a Check for modifications\Check repository and I got:

    [attachmentid=19359]

    The Yoop_Castle and Yoop_Hallway dirs/files are showing incomplete and non-versioned. Most of these files were added since my last successful commit on 7/30/06. The starsbw.tga.tmp file that I keep getting an error on doesn't show an author, a revision, or a date. Looks like these problems appeared after I did an update this morning before I tried to commit.

  7. Try a "revert" on the Yoop Castle folder. Your 3rd pic is asking for a log message. You need to enter a message when to commit files or the action will fail.

    When I do a revert on the Yoop_Castle folder, I get:

    [attachmentid=19356]

    The date on the Yoop_Castle directory is today (8/6/2006). All the files/dirs down through Kens Hallway have todays date. This is the Kens Hallway\Statues directory:

    [attachmentid=19357]

    This is what the Repository Browser shows for that directory:

    [attachmentid=19358]

    Thanks,

    Richard

  8. I am using TortoiseSVN 1.3.5, Build 6804 - 32 Bit, Windows XP SP2.

    When I attempt to do a commit from the community window, I get this:

    [attachmentid=19338]

    When I try to run the clean-up, I get this:

    [attachmentid=19339]

    If I commit by right-clicking in the Explorer window, it acts like it's working, then I get this:

    [attachmentid=19340]

    I'm have not touched anything to do with this hallway. How do I get the clean-up to work or unlock my TWOdata directory?

    Thanks,

    Richard

  9. I was watching the space network and a short Starring the two aliens that show up in the render screen came on. I looked blinked twice and went "Hey that's done in A:M!". It was cool.

    Now this is probably in the wrong section but I couldn't think of a place it would be better.......

  10. I worked on it some more last night. When I added the hand action and the movement action with no chor action, they worked set to replace. If I changed the blend mode to add on one of them, a chor action appeared and they no longer worked. Changing back to replace would not fix it. Deleting the chor action did. Is this normal behavior?

    Richard

  11. Thanks, I'll take a look at it when I get home. The _1_04_30 project on the svn is not my most recent. Since I was having problems with it last night, it has not been committed to the svn yet.

  12. I am working on animating Ku-Klip for scene 1_04_30, where he klicks a pair of cutters. I want to create an action of his hand opening and closing the cutters seperate from the rest of his movements. I created this action which only keyframes the hand, nothing else in his rig. I then created an action of his other movements, but didn't touch any of the bones in his hand.

    When I go to the chor and drop in the all movements action, it works fine. If I drop in the hand action and overlap it with any of the movement action, all of the movement action goes away. I've tried replace, blend, and add with no change. Why would the hand action override bones that it doesn't keyframe?

    I am running V13 alpha 11 under Windows XP.

  13. I just finished cuttting the current animatics into scenes per the current script. There are some scenes missing and others that don't exactly match the script. Martin asked me to put out a request for a storyboard artist to help fill these in. We will be cutting together a new animatic to match the script.

    For those of you animating, make sure that the scene you are using matches the current script. You should probably discuss any differences with your AD.

  14. Would it mess with anyone's work to scale this set down to a more reasonable size? I figure I can match up the size of the doors in the INT and EXT sets. Or maybe judge it on the height of the workbenches.

    It would probably be a good idea to match the doors. That way, if a character happens to be seen near it from the outside and the inside, it won't look strange. Wouldn't want the door changing size mid-scene. :D

    Vern (who's in charge of this set) seems to have gone AWOL. The character won't change so it's the set that needs to.

    I've emailed Vern several times to the different email addresses he has listed, got no replies. :(

  15. I have no problems with Ku-Klip's hands in alpha 10, are sure you're using alpha 10, which cd version?

    I'm using V13 alpha 10 with the Yeti CD, Windows XP. It doesn't happen every time, but when it did, I got a never ending series of popups about the circularity. Had to go to task manager to kill A:M.

    Richard

    Edit: Well, I can't seem to get it to repeat, I will keep working with it.
