If you are just talking about actual PRJs I suspect they were few.

That is some great history information. Thank you. I’m surprised by the fact that the variety of the .prj scene files wasn’t as big as I expected, but still some of these look interesting. Could you please show me some Shaded/Wireframe screenshots and final renders of “Jumper”, “Moonscape” and “roof top mayhem”?

Most of the assets on CDs were models without a Chor or PRJ.

I guess this is what I was mainly thinking about. Well, I know the fact that the majority of the character models from that timeframe were characters from the “Why does the wind blow?” short film, but I guess that the rest of the content in that category was varying during that time (a lot of the models and especially the “realistic”, “anime” and “vehicles” categories), right?

That’s strange. I even thought the scene with the two dragons (which was seen on the cover of the second edition of the Animation Master handbook by Jeff Paries) would also be included. This probably means that at the time they were released as separate models without a .prj file? I know I saw the tree model from that scene being used as a bush for an animated project from 1998 before (which might have been created using version 6).

Also, what was the list of the motion capture files that were included? And in case you don't feel I'm asking for too much, what did the models which were coming from the tutorials folder look like, as well as the more refined of the “realistic”, “anime” and “vehicles” models (that weren’t included in the Extras CD) in AM2000? I would like to see screen captures of some in Shaded/Wireframe mode.

  2. So as you probably have noticed, I don't just love Animation: Master, but I’m also very interested in its’ development history and I just wanted to know what .prj scene files were included at the time on the CDs of the software. Were some of them scenes from the showcase gallery here?

    https://forums.hash.com/gallery/album/1-showcase/

If yes, then which of them were in these two versions? Also for the scenes that are not included in the gallery, could you show me some wireframe screenshots and final renders of what they looked like (including information about which were included on which CD)? I’m talking about .prj files which are not included in the Extras CD.

In the end, how frequently was the content changing from versions 5 (1997) to 8.5 (2001)? Did it just expand from CD to CD, or even though most of the .prj scene files would be the same during that timeframe, (just as with the case of the versions from 2002 and later, when the majority of the content had been replaced) there would be also some content that would frequently change too, even back then?

I’m not asking you to send me any of the files, but I’m just curious.

  3. Coming back to this topic, I'd like to say that I was always wanted to learn who was/were the creator/creators of Spikey and Wasko and which of the two was created first 🙂. Funnily enough, I’ve seen the eyes which both characters have, appearing several times in some people’s works that were made using this software since 1992, but I guess the models might be older than that (from the Animation: Journeyman era maybe?).

And also were these two characters (or at least one of them) created for a specific kind of project, such as a short film that was never completed or did they have a different purpose before being included in whatever version of the software they were introduced?

  4. Back in 2013, I was trying to improve my skills in animation and modeling and I had evolved a lot since the first time I used Animation Master in 2011. One of the characters I tried to model was Peach from "Finding Nemo". However, I made some small improvements to the model, such as making it capable to do more movements and I posted it here.

Note: The star shape outline is a primitive object that exists in a freeware named "Spatch".

  5. Thanks Robert. The idea behind the use of photographed scenery was based under the concept of how back in the old days animators drew animated character cels and layed them on top of the hand painted backgrounds, as well as from how "The Adventures of Andre and Wally B" was done (rendering the characters seperately from the backgrounds, both of which were done using computer graphics). It also came from the fact that enviroment modeling is the most challenging part from my experience and the hardest thing for me is to model nice and realistic looking buildings, enviroments, as well as complex mechanical objects and parts, where I need a lot of practice. I really enjoy modeling and sometimes designing characters however, especialy cartoony ones.

  6. While I was somewhat active on this forum, I was also creating alot of things I've never shared with you, until now. I was (and I still am) using Animation: Master for many years to create 3D work. I was also learning other animation software as well and I think I have improved my knowledge for animation in general alot since then. Here are some of my best projects I created using Animation: Master. I should also mention that only the first of the five animated projects I created has subtitles.

    2015

This animated short film was created to show some of the most exciting attractions of my city, Drama, located in Greece.

    2016

In this advertisement, made for both TV and internet, I was responsible for creating and presenting a new mascot for Oniroupole (dreamtown), which is a Christmas village that is built every winter in my city’s park and is a famous touristic attraction.

    2019

Some of the contemporary saints and the great things they did. All of the theological projects here were created for the School of Theology of the Aristotele University of Thessaloniki.

    2020

Here is saint Patrick saying "Thank you, deeply". This animation was part of a PowerPoint project.

    2021

A synopsis of saint Dimirtios' life.

  7. I'm currently working on a new short film and I was searching a few 3D car models that matched the style I'm going for and one of the models I wanted to use was included only in some older versions of Animation: Master (up to version 5 or 6, I guess). I remember one time I came across a few renderings of some 3D models which were used in "Why Does The Wind Blow?" on Dennis Clevenger's old website and I just wanted to play with one of these models (even though most of them are included new versions of Animation: Master too) and I'd like to know if someone has a coppy of it. In case some people might not remember what it looked like, i'm posting an image of it here. If it's possible be found only as a .seg file if not as a .mdl file too, I could try to import it. Could you plese send that 3D model to my pofile? Thanks!

Sorry. I should have posted it in the vehicles page.

  8. Since Rodney posted the 1998 Actors at: https://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46023 , I looked into an old A:M screencapture and found out there was another folder, which included "Anime" actors, and was seperate from the "Actors" folder itself.

At first I wanted to use the "Seira" model, but later I thought there might be other A:M users, who are interested in Japanese animation and might like to use the other anime models too (if someone would like to upload them). And again, as they'll be mostly for inspiration and nostalgia decals and materials will not included, they can be uploaded if requested.

    Thanks!

  9. Hello. I just returned to the A:M Forum because something weird happend to my 3D viewport. A red font apeared on my screen (I don't even know what I pressed, but it suppose was a big mistake and I know it has to do with keyfreaming). I think this is a very stupid question but how do I get that off? I would be glad if you could explain to me. If I'm not very clear, here's the thing Im talking about.
