say where can i find the Maps folder? i went to the ftp site and i couldnt find it since i need the folder to get the fw-190 image.
-
ah! it worked guys, thanks! holy cow! cant believe that it was that simple.
-
i uploaded 2 files. flowerpower is the one that the narrator has. as you can see, there is a green y axis line at 0cm mark, flowerpower2 is my work. at the 0cm, i have no such y axis line. i decided to try changing colors for the y axis but it still didnt.
-
i already have the "display grid" and display ruler check. the y axis has a green line in the middle of the screen. in the flower power tutorial, the narrator has it shown to help show where the y axis is at 0cm. i am beginning to feel that it is just the different version of the AM. the tutorial is years old and i have the latest AM. as for the doughnut, its okay, i fixed that part mostly in the other thread you mention about the tutorials.
-
okay, i will try your tutorial for the lathing. i got the bud to be the size i wanted though now.
-
in creating splines, it is not as circular as his when creating the bud of the flower. this happens after hitting the "L" key. also the bud appears doughnut shape instead of circular. here is my project loaded again. Project3.prj

yeah, thanks bro, it is working, i edited my post but i see you caught my older post. say, when i am "add mode+" and connecting the dots, they are not that curvy. is there a way to make them look more circular or smooth them out?
-
say, how do you display the x and y axis lines. i am going over the controls and i cant find it. also in the flower power exercise, in creating the yellow bud, it creates a doughnut shape instead of a circle shape.
-
so basically i got to connect the dots? i am looking at the top portion of the petals and the dots in the middle are not connected to the ones that are in the left side and right side. also on the bottom ones of each petal. okay, i have tried that and it is working, thank you. i have to say though, yours look more straight in the bottom each petals and looks like each petal is connected to each other as well. did you connect each petal together? also i was doing the instructor/narrator way of connecting the dots for the bottom portion of each petal and they keep failing.
-
splines instead of patches? i dont understand, what steps did you use to fix the problem?
-
okay, i am doing the flower power exercise and when finishing using the duplicator to create the multiple petals, the petals wont show in shaded mode. i am not too sure what the tutorial did to make it show in shaded mode. in fact, he didnt add any color, he just went to shaded mode and it was displaying the pedals in a grayish manner. i decided to put color on the petals to see if they would display but nothing happen. i only get the stem and other two leaves that i created below. i uploaded my project for you anyone who wants to help Project2.prj

dope sheet was there, i just needed to search for it since it was hidden. once i click on it, the dope sheet appeared
-
never mind. i figure it out on my own
-
say, saving the Dope Sheet. i save my project, but when i open AM and open up the save project, i have to always recreate the dope sheet. it doesnt save when you reopen the saved Project file. im i missing something??

then that would explain why increasing the blue bar then didnt work since i was going by the video, the video does not open the Project Workspace window and does not mention anything about the blue bar. you actually manipulate the cycle length before the dropping the "Action" to the model. in fact, i didnt knew the blue bar could do such a thing until you told me. the videos are great but they are kind of old and i think needs to be updated to some degree and also point out such details like you just mention about the blue bar.
-
okay, i figured it out. i needed to go back to the cycle length, i dragged and drop the "Action" that was created to the rabbit model in the choreography and i got the "Cycle Lenght" option again. i was able to change it to 10 seconds instead of 5 and he walked much slower or human speed. strange sometimes, when doing the drag and drop of the "Action" for that, i created a new "Shortcut to Rabbitwalk" in the Project Workspace under "Action". anyway it is working at that speed.
-
the exercise told me to put just 5 seconds on the "Cycle Length", in the video, it tells me around 14:50 minute mark. i did what you said with blue bar in the Project Workspace window. i expand it and when i saved it, the rabbit model didnt walk the full path that i gave him. it is same when i change the "length" field in the Choreography properties window. the model just walks just as fast but this time he doesnt walk the full path and still goes fast. i couldnt find the "Chor" that you were talking about. what is the "Chor" that you are telling me about? where is it exactly?
-
it is the size that the guy suggested in the exercise, 5 seconds for the cycle length. i attached/uploaded a pic of the path in Camera View on this post. i will try to increase the cycle length but i just dont how to get that option back as well. when i go to the properties of it, i just dont get the option to change it.
-
say, i finish the "take a walk" exercise and it completed great but when i make the model move with the action walk i created, the rabbit walks sooooooo fast. and in the video he walks slowly. now animation did crash but not before saving the project and action walk. i dont know if that has something to do with it or is it the Hast Stride Length.
-
i see, i will take that into account next time. so far i have done two exercises, want to learn fast ASAP
-
never mind, i close and reopen the application and now they are there. strange, the tutorial are not exactly the same as this animation master i am using, looks a little old
-
say, i subscribe to the web version of AM. i am following the tutorial Exercise 1: You're the Director and in the video, the narrator clicks on pose sliders, he gets a little window with some options that allows him to pose the model character. when i do it, i get the little window but nothing on it to choose from. i thought i needed to update AM, but when i choose to look for updates, it just takes to the same installation exe. file please help
-
the year subscription, if you decide to get that, you are just accessing AM from a server and you get all the same abilities if you buy the product or are there some limits?
-
v15 is the latest version? I heard there was a version 17

I think this is the main point. A lot of folks see a final piece of animation, either on the silver screen or the boob-tube (my dads term!) and think, hey I can do that, completely forgetting that a whole production company did that, from writing, to story boarding, to character art, to ... to ... to . Long story short, is, well keep it short. Start simple, work up to your goals...slowly. I started on A:M some 6 years ago, and am still working on my first short that I would feel comfortable with showing the public. Not to discourage anybody, just keep your expectations realistic. You will get much more satisfaction out of your work with A:M, and any other app on the market. the above clip was done by 1 person, the one that i showed you, by Monty Oum. called Dead Fantasy 5, using Dead or Alive characters and Final Fantasy. he basically made them fight and not do voices, or have plot etc. i cant do a final fantasy like the version shown in theaters well im going to create a japanese anime look, continue stories from anime that has already finished or create a new one all together. so i will get started and see how it goes. seems from the 17 minute introduction video of AM, i believe it can be done.
