The one question on my mind is how the feather that goes under his eye will look in 3D. But with a perspective shot you may be able to sort out how he looks. There have been many bird creatures created in A:M so you are in very good company! Zack points out a good spot that you may want to consider further as it could work as a decal... geometry of a combination of both... But I have a question...you make the feathers with particles, or bump maps or something right? Also, will they cover up any small seams?
