changing lathe values question

I apologize if this is covered in here already. I did try a search but there's just too much that comes back.

 

I simply want to know how to set the lathe tool up to subdivide in more or less sections than it does by default.

It's in the Options Panel.

 

If you hold down Shift when you press the lathe button it will bring up that Options page for you.
