JohnArtbox Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 http://www.artboxanimation.com/AmStuff/Demo3d.html Intro for the flash animation project I've been working on for the last week. I used kci's am2swf plugin and it worked pretty much flawlessly. AM's animation tools made it a snap to animate quickly, and the rest of the presentation is looking(bad pun)pretty flash <_ . the final has a lot of extra detail which i can show until client releases it.> Just thought I'd share. dmouncey Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 Like it. Nice, simple, clean and colourful. How big is the resulting swf file? Quote
cehenderson Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 What is the Hash to Flash plugin? And where can I find more information about it? Thanks. Quote
cehenderson Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 Well after searching the mailing list archive further I found this link. http://www.kci-group.com/z/am2swf.htm I think this is what I was looking for. Quote
JohnArtbox Posted February 10, 2004 Author Posted February 10, 2004 Thanks Doug, the swf file was around 300k after being compressed in flash. Carl, that's it. For curved shapes I'd still go with rendering and auto tracing, but for faceted shapes like these am2swf was great. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 10, 2004 Hash Fellow Posted February 10, 2004 Hey looks neat! I saw two facets flicker out just briefly but otherwise it looks like the transition to Flash went well. Quote
xor Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 Nice job. I like it. Once you converted to Flash, was there much more tweaking to do or was it ready to go? Quote
JohnArtbox Posted February 16, 2004 Author Posted February 16, 2004 Thanks guys, would you believe the client came up with a new concept and this one got flushed. The file as you see it was straight out of AmtoSwf, all I did was load it into Flash MX and reoutput the swf. I didn't optimise it but it still cut the file size by 50% If the client had gone ahead I would have fixed the polygons that flickered by hand. Quote
xor Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Bummer. Well at least you completed the project with good results. Does that mean you'll be posting a new Hash to Flash animation for us in the near future? Quote
JohnArtbox Posted February 17, 2004 Author Posted February 17, 2004 no, the new concept was old fashioned motion graphics. I've just finished it(crossed fingers) so I've got one more web banner to do and I can get back to AM Quote
ZPiDER Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 hey this looks nice! sorry to hear, the concept got flushed. Quote
