how to set rotation axis?

hi!

just recently opened up A:M again and coninued working on a model. but i've got a problem: in the birds eye view, when i try to "turn" around the object, it just disappears out of my sight, because the center is probably way off there...

so my extremely noob question: how can i center the center point?

maybe while i'm at it another question: theres been a lot of talking going on in the german A:M forum as well as on other boards about A:M being discontinued. i'm still working on v14 but i wanted to upgrade, but i'm somewhat concerned about the future of my favourite animation package...

thank you very much!

cheers!

Did you select a point? If not, do that first... the rotation-pivot of the viewport will always be the selection or selection-pivot.

The rotation-point of a model-window is by default its 0/0/0-Position. To position it, go to bones-mode, select the root-bone (bone at the highest hierachie-level), press the CTRL-Button and hold it and than move it around.

A rotation-point of a group can be move in translate-mode. (So not the default mode but the real translate mode. There you can find the pivot-point and move it around.

You can although have a look at the model-bone of the model. Go to Bones-Mode, click into an empty area. You should now see a black bone which is the model-bone.

As Fuchur said, if you select one cp then use the "T" to turn he vew, it rotates around the selected cp(s).

A:M isn't being discontinued as far as I know. They've changed the software upgrade policy. Check this site out for all the details.

Basically they switched over to a yearly subscription to use the software. It's $40.00 cheaper ($49.99) but you basically rent the software anually. You can still get the traditional update but now it will cost $299.00.
