Hello everyone,

I've just ordered A:M and I would like to get a new PC to run it on.

Does anyone have any recommendations on the following:

1) Processor - AMD or Intel? What processor would give best results in A:M, best speed etc?

2) 32 bit or 64 bit - is it worth getting an AMD64 processor?

3) How much memory? - I will probably get 1Gb Ram, is it worth getting more?

4) Graphics card - Nvidia, ATi - in the past I have stuck with Nvidia - better the devil you know?

Any other recommendations would be gratefully accepted

Hi Marvin-

Try for the fastest single chip if its for AM only- I don't think AM supports hyperthreading......yet

My largest model files and chos were freezing up at 512 mb ram but now with 2Gb the turn like a dream

I run on the main machine 2x7800 nvidia GFOrce GTX graphics cards which were at first giving me problems- I had a green blob and 2 parallel white vertical lines and a third horizontal one, but since installing newest drivers, this does'nt happen.

Cant tell you about the difference in speed re AMD or Intel, but get the most RAM you can afford

Microsoft Windows xp pro Version2

Intel pentium 4 1.79 384mb Ram on one machine

Microsoft Windows xp Home Version2

Intel pentium 4 3.2 2GBb Ram on the other

i just put together a great 64 bit amd system and discovered that a significant chunk of 3d party drivers haven't been ported yet.

likewise, programs (like a:m) will need to be recompiled to take advantage of the x64 processor.

i'm pretty sure that hasn't happened yet, and with v13 being stability-focussed... it might be a while.

but grab a 64 bit amd processor anyway.... it's 32 bits better! ' ' )
