Hair Help

I've decaled a character's head with an image that drives hair length. But it doesn't quite go to zero. In the places where the image goes to 0,0,0 RGB there are still little stubs of hair showing. Does anyone know a work-around or know a way to get zero-length hair?

I have made sure that my blacks are really 0,0,0.

Under the hair system, you set your length to a specific measurement. In each hair emitter you set a percentage of that specific measurement.

Each emitter also has a length variation, could that be the culprit?

I'm still kind of new to hair too as I just completed exercise #20 a last week. So I'd like to know ahead of time as I have a feline biped type character that will need a similar map on her face.

Thanks, but I checked that already.

It's been a while since I used this feature but I thought it used go to zero length without any fuss.
