  1. That's cuzz I stole it! I used the tutorial on Jeff's site to make a gun flash just like he did.
  2. I'm glad you said that, fun is the object of the exercise.
  3. I've got one more robot to make and then it's writin' time. Then there's storyboarding, voice recording, the two ships and a few other sets and I start animating this thing. Check it out at robotoon.tv
  4. I'm getting closer and closer to getting this thing done! Once Lillith here is finished then I've got one more robot to do. Then I finish my script, make the two space ships and any other sets I need. After that I start animating the show. Check my latest progress report on robotoon.tv
  5. Had a little health trouble so not a whole lot of progress this time around. But I'm feeling better so I should be able to report more progress next month. Click Here for to see it.
  6. Holy Thor, I've finnally finished robot number 7. My first fem-bot. She's not perfect, but she'll do. She's Miss Right Now. I have a cold. I hope Saturday's dungeon crawl isn't cancelled because of a sick DM. Click Here Darn You!
  7. Thanks again then. I like this way of presentation for a couple reasons. It's easy for one. All I do is render whatever I've finished with up to a point, either animated or simply spinning. And it keeps me honest. If I have a deadline every month I have to have at least something to show my progress.
  8. Thanks. Benchmark is good right?
  9. Whoops, server trouble. Here's the file. breasts are too big huh? Now I know, They were actually bigger but I shrank em a bit. How does the rest of the body look?
  10. And here is another update. A little less progress on the cartoon this month. But I did plenty of work. Check it out
  11. This is looking really good. I don't suppose you're going to try making Batman and Robin to drive around in it?
  12. I'm on the home stretch with the cast. Just 3 more robots to go. All female, so I'll take more care making them. Then I go to storyboarding, recording voices and building sets. Once that's done I'll finally start animating some episodes. Click here or on the picture
  13. Yes I have. In the tradition of transformers fandom, they appear in a flash of light.
  14. I've made some more robots, and they have guns that appear out of nowhere.
  15. My plan is to make 9 robots, 2 space ships, and a few other sets, then reuse them for an animated series of 5 minute episodes. I made a new episode showing my progress. It can be found here: http://robotsrobotsrobots.libsyn.com/
  16. Thanks everybody for the help. The last post was my "aha" moment.
  17. I do not see the color percentage property in the chor, nor on the shortcut to the model in the chor. I only see it on the model. Just for a lark, if I go to another spot in the timeline to change the color, it changes that percentage for all time, not just for that time. I believe that either there is just something I am not seeing or that this is a change from 11 to 12.
  18. If I change that percentage in the model, the model doesn't animate. I've just turned the decal invisible. Now all instances of that model will have an invisible decal. Perhaps this was a change in 12?
  19. Okay, here's my first test animation. I plan to have something every month on my podcast: http://robotsrobotsrobots.libsyn.com/ You can subscribe to the cast using iTunes or another podcatcher using the rss feed: http://robotsrobotsrobots.libsyn.com/rss If you don't know much about podcasting. You don't need an ipod to view or listen to a podcast. In iTunes, to to advanced -> subscribe to podcast, and past the rss link in the box they give you. Then the cast will automatically update whenever there is a new episode. Check out podcastpickle.com for some shows you might like. There's tons. And there's also the traditional website for Robots Robots Robots but there's not much there yet. http://happybigfun.com/RobotsRobotsRobots.html
  20. I can't put vents and stuff on the robot. I'd never finish the series! This is already a very ambitous project. I gotta keep it simple for now.
  21. I want him to look shiny and metallic, not so much grungy. I'm going for the Beast Wars look. Any materials advice would be helpful.
  22. http://www.happybigfun.com/Robotsrobotsrobots.html It is my intention to make a monthly five minute animated podcast (web series) featuring sentient robots at war. It will be called "Robots Robots Robots!" Right now, none of them can change forms, but at some point I'm going to try to make a robot that can transform. I won't use that term in the series cause I don't want to get sued. The plan, inspired by beast wars, is to make 8 robots, a few sets, and then continue to re-use those same models throughout the series. This will take some time to start up, but my hope is that it will only take a month to make each episode once all the models are made and I'm only adding a few new models at a time. Like only 2 or 3 new robots per season. Right now I'm working on a test animation with this robot. Turns out hand to hand fighting is hard to animate. My hope is that it will be easier to animate robots shooting each other. So my next task is to make a gun and learn how to make the effects for the gun. Then I'll do another test animation.
