This looks great Paul, the walk cycle is perfect for this character. One thing that he possibly needs is a 12 o'clock shadow ,or has that pesky alien already shaved him after his examination.

Hi Kelley,
Just a thought. In your pws open up your decal folder on the model and the image subfolder,it could be that you have to add the image back in.

Very encouraging start Paul,Can't wait to see more of this little fella in action.

Awsome modeling Lee,Your attention to detail is superb.
It's a shame you can't finnish this, can't you keep it as a side project and finnish it when you do have more time or are there some sort of restrictions?

Hi Gareth,
I found a good picture of the Martian Feet, these were taken from the official Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds site - http://www.thewaroftheworlds.com/default.aspx
Hope these help.

Also try this link

As luuk said don't have any textures or colours on your model, and don't have any lights in your Cho when you render.

This is superb modeling.I'll be honest as much as i liked Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds i really wanted to see the version novelised by H G Wells.
This would be incredible to see animated,so much so i have attached a link to Jeff Wayne's test footage of the Walker from his cgi movie version.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Ravager
what are patches? and how do you find the amount there is in a model?Take a look at this link :- http://www.alienlogo.com/tincan/
Also take a look at page 127 in your TAoA:M manual & page 199 to 207 in the Technical reference book that came with A:M v14 (also on the cd).
To find out how many patches are in your model,in your modelling window right click and about half way down you will see 'info'.click on this to see the patch count or hairs for your model.
Hopes this helps

Have you made sure that the tolerance is set to 0% as this is very important,By doing that you are making sure that only that shade of green is selected.
If you are still having problems please post a screen grab.

3.Snap to Rulers:
In the modelling window you can snap to grid, is it possible to snap to a ruler instead?
I'll try and answer this one.
While there isn't a snap to ruler function that I'm aware of,you can use the following steps to model outside the grid so to speak.
(Please ignore the fact that I'm modelling a square in this example, which you would use the the snap to grid function of course!)
Hope this might be of some use to you.

Just to let everyone know the 'May' yes May issue of 3D World has just been delivered to me.
They have a feature in the issue about low budget independant Cgi films, from the lone animator to small studios. The reason for this post is they highlight the great work being done by everyone on this project, and Rodney...the H word is not used even once!.In fact they refer to everyone involved as Volunteer artists.
The main focus this time round is about the use of Dot project and Subversion to keep track of all the data involved as well as the Wiki and forum site. Also there is a great little side panel showing the costs, team size, location of artists etc of the different independent Cgi films being made.
Hopefully they will run more articles on TWO and A:M.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Hello Largento
Probably the best way to do what you want is to make two separate actions.
Do an action for the minute hand say rotating 360 deg every 30 frames and the same for the hour hands. This probably isn't an elegant solution to what your after but should help.
