One piece of advice ' Dont give up now '.
I'll be honest that i never really looked at this thread properly until today as i had never heard of Rush. The work you have done so far has been superb and to stop at this point would be a big shame. The animation you've posted up on youtube shows some real promise so keep going with it even if it's as a secondry project, because lets be honest if you stop here you might never come back to it.You have put a lot of effort into your models and it would be a shame for them to remain static images.
**** Keep going Tai Shan ****

P.s.After looking at your animation on youtube i had a look at Rush's video for 'Far Cry' I think i might be listening to this band a bit more in the future.

Take a look at page 40 onwards of the Technical Reference manual. This goes into detail on how to create a ponytail.
Page 30 - 42 covers the hair system in detail.

Thanks Rodney.....
I'm glad you liked the image as much as you have.I wish i could say i had planned the image in this way from the begining but that would be a lie.
When i started this exercise i knew from the outset that i wanted to do something different from the car model (To be honest i looked at the previous postings and thought that i couldn't do any better,so why try ).
After my first idea fell flat on it's face because i couldn't find the models i was after (Tramway bridge? that i used in the Take a walk exercise) i grabbed the Troll model and started to think in what situation i could place him. After discounting a fantasy idea i had in mind due to the lack of modelling skills at present, i rembered that there was a really great model of a tank hidden in the depths of Hash's Ftp server. From there i just went a little nuts (Michael Bay mode) and threw what good military models i could at him, after all he had just trashed an entire city (Off camera ).
Most of the composistion was done in camera.I like to set up a shot and then see what fits within reason, trying not to make it over crowded. The lighting is something i will be looking at later this year when i have completed TAoA:M as i need to spend some time to find what works properly within a shot as opposed to what will do! I hadn't really noticed the Tank problem until you highlighted it.
I have attached some Pws grabs of the scene to show just how disorganised from a planning view this was and more a Gut feeling it became.
Sorry for the long reply.

Great work Paul,
It's a shame we won't get to see some more of these characters. The Hare looks like he overdosed on Red Bull on his warmup

Thanks Rodney.
I be starting all my animation exercises later in the year so i certainly think about animating the Troll scene depending on how good i get (Thats if Michael Bay doesn't beat me to it ).
Cheers

Is there a problem when loading new projects?

Sorry i'm all out of puns,
This looks really good.Looking at your texturing you seem to be going for a claymation look.(i hope i'm not out of order with this remark).
I can't wait to see more.

I'm not getting anything, all 3 of my webrenders have been idle. I did notice that sometimes if you close it and reopen, it will start back up, but I haven't had any success the last few days. Even with Alpha 3.

I think the unfortunate posistion we are in just seeing the 2nd,4th,6th frame and so on in a sequence means we don't get to see the the full flowing scene in progress. And as such seeing the frames as they are with what we think are odd Dof and so on might not seem too bad when run at full frames.I take the phillosophy that if it dosen't look right in context then Martin will get us to render the sequence again.
