Could you please post an animation of him climbing onto a wall or something vertical. and if you really want to climbing into a vent afterwards.

iz a threat...not attack...and gazz, I know exactly where you're coming from...however this guy is a robot. He's probably as tall as the Sears Tower..he's huge...if I wanted to make him look like nature's real creature, I would've spent more than the two hours I did on this animation
Well...he's actually meant to be a sort of spy spider that is used for infiltrating places (vents, small crakcs etc) if he was huge i would have added more gears and pipes and things.
Anyway, the animation is great.

yes....right now I'm trying to figure out how to double-compress it...I put it in a zip and it's barely over 1 mb...it's 1.32. Gre, how did you double compress your file using two zips? I tried that, but the file size stays the same
1st right click the project file and zip it there. then open up WinZip and do the same thing manualy with the 1st zipfile...i think thats how i did it

oh man...dude your rig is like..not too good to work with. I could rerig it for ya...your arms need to be more controllable than that. And there are no torso bones!

I'm new to rigging and animating. If you want to rig it...please, go ahead, but could you post the finished project file so that i could have a look. And if you really want to, you could animate it as well, perhaps a walk cycle.

man I'd love to animate that guy...can ya post up the model file? I'd be happy to animate. Why don't you animate him like drawing out an iron web from his butt...that would be awesome...I'd do that for you when I got the time. Just send the white light set, the model, etc.
I've already animated it but i havn't been able to post the 1.75mb file of a walk cycle.

He is rigged... Why doesn't he move?
I haven't had enough time. i've been doing the spider for about 3 days (that includes modeling, texturing, rigging, and the scene). and i also haven't been able to find good references for spider movements
Does anyone know of any?

Here's a mechanical spider I modeled. My main problem is having the whole spider in the one 'model'. At the moment I have each leg in a separate 'model' so that I can change the copy/paste things quickly. But if I put the entire spider in the one 'model' it takes about 10 minutes to copy and paste one leg
Does any one have any tips for faster copying and pasting or to reduce the amount of CP's quickly without changing the original shape?

How long did it take you to make all that?
is your ceiling normaly black like that? I get the impression that your room is floating around in space with no ceiling. lol.
It took me about 3 days to model my room. i've been trying to get the cieling and the walls the same color without using ambiance. i've tried to lower the light source but i have to lower it so it is in the centre of the room to have the cieling the same colour as the walls.
P.S. i've tried radiosity but it takes way too long to render, and the end result is a whtie background with black spots

here's my latest model of my room. i still have to add a lot a decals to the posters and add some more paintings but at the moment i think it looks pretty good
P.S. i know making the edges curved would make it look a lot more real, but that adds twice as many control points to the project and then everything gets really slow.

try all the buttons near ctrl+s (q,w,e,a,d,z,x) try changing the graphics driver in the global properties. I cant think of anything else

Theres a certain point where really good becomes freakish...and you've crossed it
I modeled a ship a while back but its nothing compared to this monster.
