I'm not working due to a health condition. Used to work in the computer field - in my big 6 year career I've worked in low level operating system development/debugging, I've worked high level networking, I've developed simple database applications for a multinational organization, and I've handled the maintenance of 150+ computers in public access labs of a major university on my own (above in order I remembered them, not in order they came in).

I'm not an artist. But I'd love to learn how.. Of course, they say it can't be taught, it takes "talent", I'd like to see if I can dig up some kind of talent.

For toys: I have Adobe Illustrator CS, I have Adobe Photoshop 6.0, (and in Linux, of course, I have the GIMP), Adobe Premiere Elements, Adobe After Effects 6.5, and of course I have A:M. So I have my basic art kit. Now to figure out what to do with it, I've got nothing but time (unfortunately, I have an attention deficit thing too).

I don't know why, but I am a (paying) member of: ACM,
ACM SIGGRAPH, IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, ASME, and for some unknown reason, the MAA. Basically, all that means is I subscribe to a few magazines which probably never get read. Though I must read them sometimes because I was once mentioned in the SIGGRAPH newsletter ("Computer Graphics" magazine) public policy column (back in 2001?), but it was unrelated to graphics. That was a different time in my life though.
