  1. Oh, my system specs:

    one is a Athlon64 4600 OC'ed to 2.6 GHZ, the other is a Intel Core2 Duo 6400 OC'ed to 3.4GHZ, 2GB performance RAM, and a RAID

*warning* I do not suggest or endorse overclocking I really think it's the fresh live food, not the overclocking that improves render speed-

  2. OK Mr Steve - Just what are you feeding your computer for breakfast? - I want it.

live small furry animals and an occasional human child...

DOF and motion blur should have almost no impact on render times-

  3. a great start! Keep at it! a couple tech (non-animation related) comments:

-the audio is very (VERY) distorted for me.

-make sure you use Mpeg4 low or medium quality for the smallest file size.

-don't forget to commit your work to SVN once you get the movie file size straightened out.

  4. just getting going on this, but wanted to post my progress!

this is rendered from a side view instead of the camera, because from the camera, he's a ways off, and hard to see... the axe is actually close to the camera, and he'll "stride purposefully" up to it...

  5. I just loaded AM that I bought a few months ago and cannot seem to be able to sign in.

I tried the s/w registration panels many times and it simply took all the info and that was it. I could not sign in to s/w.

Then I registered on the AM site, got confirmation, and s/w still shows no name exists and I cannot use it.

    Please help.

The AMCommunity registration issues are resolved in the current version, which you can download here:

    http://www.hash.com/support/updates.asp

Forum registration and AMCommunity registration are not related- you need to register for both-

  6. this is the next shot I've been assigned- the script says straw bear pops his seams and straw comes out- anybody have any suggestions on how to pull this off?

I'm thinking maybe a hair emitter on a pose? has anybody tried animating hair length? I suppose I could just animate the position of the emitter so it comes through his "skin" when his seams pop...

  7. Actually, Kevin's changes have already been reverted- Martin and I had decided we liked the look of the old (Nancy) hair better... It seems like the change was much more dramatic than what should have resulted from Kevin's minor change-

  8. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll take a whack at incorporating them!

Regarding how it will blend with the previous shot, shouldn't it be a simple as matching green monkey's end pose in the previous shot with the first pose of green monkey in this shot?
