1:37 of "The Argument" here:
http://www.holmesbryant.com/files/video/scarecrow_of_oz/
Maybe it's because someone animated his body looking disappointed. That's the only thing I'm worried about. There are certain acting choices made by the intonation in the dialogue. If they're not present, it could be a disjointed performance. It's a tricky thing you're doing, but good luck!

Yeah, Martin's voice was growing one me too but it's nice to have the original. In the end, it doesn't really bother me which voice is used as long as the expression/acting is there. I'm missing one in the above recordings....when SC is trying to scare the crow, I'm not feeling the disappointment as much at the end when he says Awwww.
-
OK. Done now. On to the next one.
-
Ah January 2009....the days when pre-jungle Martin used to post.
Those two look at home next to Jacques. The scar will look great.
-
He belongs on Jacques ship! So they bring Ballast on the ship when they want to submerge? You gotta do a skinny one now. Or an old one that has spent his entire life serving Jacques. Oh and a bit of grime might complete them.
-
Cool idea! I like it. Robert, now's the time to get those suggestions in.
-
Prioritizing them is going too far. If they get done, great. If not, no problem. They're just my initial impressions as I watch the drafts. However, most of them are small enough tweaks.
-
Great! Here's my first list. More coming soon.
Could use an Intro....something like an outside shot of the castle.
The Argument
Some popping in Tinmans sneak.
Move SC's shot.
Move Tinmans hips in the Blubbty blob.
And any other tweaks...more exteme poses? Lip sync?
The Boss
Some movement to Tinman in first frame shot.
lipsync.
Tingirl too shiny?
Has her voice been altered? Why? Sounds weird.
Fix Tinmans neck when he gets off the chair..."right now".
Camera shake at 1:08
Captain Bill and Trot.
Lipsync
Elbow snapping in rowing.
Trot skirt on seat?
Hard to hear voices above wind...1:13.
They shouldn't be static in water. 1.33
Swim cycles could be improved....snapping
Something in front of their faces? 1.44
2:06 lipsync
Lighting very dark in cave.
2.47 Lipsync
Light up the Orks eyes
Could be more of a fright when the Ork appears.
The Ork
2:41 Ork freezes.
3:20 Does ork beak go through Bills head?
Flight
Acting slow at 1:40
2:00 lipsync.
Facial animation 2:09
2:40 Ork body movement?
2:45 Gets dark
2:54 Have camera move left so it looks like they're progressing right. Look like stationary now.
Scarecrow
10 sec Scarecrow Ouch! Could be louder.
18 sec Scarecrow little finger right hand going through plant.
19 sec left hand going through face.
1:06 Head jerks
2:01 Lip goes through hand

Count me in when you start to do some refinements....I can see quite a few. I know I could do them now, but I feel better doing them when I know others are too.
-
You could use that if you save the action as a copy and just rotate the wings up with the Animate key off. Perhaps it's not the most realistic of grasshopper flapping, but it's what all the other scenes use.
-
Whoohoo! Wannabe's forever!
-
A little too hummingbird for me. Perhaps raising them a little higher will eliminate that.
-
Unless there are no script related problems, it seems the more sensible way.
-
Looks great! The only crit (as usual) is the lack of white water around Flemms ship.
-
It could be an installation issue or there is a known bug that causes something similar. It's just a matter of deleting a reference to the model bone in the hierarchy. Posting the model would be the ideal solution.

In the chor, I thought the bucket was moving from side to side across the screen. Looked good. But this looks good too.
-
I just tried on the alt chor and I can see his face which suggests it could be a graphics card issue. Maybe those wingbeats are causing problems again.
I think for the elbows, you need to position them first and then move the IK nulls.
-
You can never have too much power, but equally AM runs well on an old machine. It's not the running but the rendering usually. Unless you have a huge scene. In which case, memory, a good processor and graphics card will stand you in good stead.
It seems odd that drivers are stopped after just four years. Maybe we're just moving that fast now.
-
Beautiful parabolic flight. And his flight hold looks cool too. Nice work.
-
Coming on nicely. Could maybe use a touch more anticipation for the rush to the bucket. Or it might be funny to have a Snagglepuss style exist stage right....see frame at 34 sec on in this video:
Ah Snagglepuss. The king of anticipation.

The original script I got had them get to the sign, then Woot has a big pout and says he doesn't want to go anywhere. It's completely out of character and didn't connect to anything else about him in the movie.
That comes from the original story where Woot doesn't want to go because he's the only one that can get hurt. But your interpretation works too.
I think most people watching that sequence would not get that he has turned his head to the side.I got the impression that the Castle is in the distance....to the side of the road.
-
Did you change Woots head in that "tree limb" shot? It looks at a different angle. Unless it's just a different frame. I agree about sticking to convention. If it ain't broke...
It's amazing how shiny hair pulls you out of a story.

They're what we've got so far so they're drafts until we/you tweak them. However, check your changes with the spreadsheet (link at the top) as it may have been done already.
