  1. That's looking better. Can you make it wider, like a queen or king size? She's pretty wide herself. Maybe add several pillows and make them all smaller to give more scale to the bed size.

Can you make the matress rounder and softer looking? She thinks of herself as a real girly-girl.

    Thanks,

    Jim

  2. Stian,

It's a beautiful bed! But I'm not sure if it will hold up under Mrs.Yoop's weight. Maybe it should be either sturdier looking or saggy-looking to play up her weight. If she were to lie on it, her stomache would reach all the way up to the lace. Since I don't recall if a 4 poster bed is necessary from the animatic, I can't be sure, but it seems like the canopy would interfere with green monkey juming up and down on Mrs. Yoop's stomache trying to grab the apron.

All this doesn't take away from your exellent modelling. I'm just not sure it fits where it's needed.

  3. David,

Great job capturing the likeness of my sketch!

I have just a few comments:

I think the inside corners of his eyes are pulled too far back into the head. Try to soften that area around his eyes and nose.

Add a crease or fold to where the eyelid starts.

The ear is probably just roughed out at the moment, but it needs to be a little more accurate. I can send an ear model if you would like.

Define the nostril "thingies" a bit more.

I've attached a marked up image to help show what I am trying to describe.

Thanks, it's coming along very nicely!

  4. Hi David,

That's a nice head model you got going. It's a bit too realistic for the look we are going for. So I've attached a side sketch of Woot to show the more cartoony style and proportions we want to capture.

    Thanks,

    Jim

  5. Thanks for your answers, guys.

    Mark,

I am afraid of burning you out, but if you feel you can do most of the rigging, then that's fine with me. I would feel more comfortable if there were more than one rigger working on the project especially if you became unavailable for some reason, we'd be in a bad spot.

As far as I can tell from the tests I've seen, you have done an excellent job of installing the rig. There may be some smartskin or cloth sim areas to add in eventually, but otherwise, great work!

As far as I know David Rogers (obnomauk) is still willing to rig Tingirl. Is anyone else interested in installing the Squetch rig? I am thinking of reworking her shoulder joints, so I would probably have to work with him on that area.

    David (itsjustme),

I was hoping you'd either say, it's okay to install this rig and the changes wouldn't be a problem, or don't install it now, the final will be too different. But if you can't tell at this time, I guess we should just go ahead and rig them, as long as Mark is willing to rerig as necessary.

So, Mark, who do you want first? We got Tinman, Nimmie Amee, Chopfyt, Strawbear, Tin Owl, Turkey, and soon KuKlip and Mrs. Yoop. Will Hipogyraf have to have a special rig?

    Thanks,

    Jim

  6. Sorry it's taking me so long, the legs have been giving me a fight. The latest attempts are very close. I'll try to get it done as fast as I can.

    Hi David,

I am not a good rigger at all, so I can fully appreciate how hard it is to do what you're doing, so don't feel that I am pressuring you with this question.

We have several characters ready for rigging, but I am wary of starting to rig them if the rig is going to change significantly or if it would be very hard to update the rig to the finished version.

Do you think it's okay to start the rigging now and be able to make the changes later to all the characters or should we wait for the rig to be more finalized?

    Thanks,

    Jim

  7. Hi Kevin,

Here's one more tweak based on the gesture sketches Bob did. Can you give him a bigger butt? It needs to stick out more, and the angle of the apron tie will give it a bigger look, too.

    Thanks,

    Jim

  8. Female cattle (cows) can have horns also.

    Jim

Perfect! Nice simple spline layout too. He might need another ring around the length of his body. You're probably going to do it anyway. Just a small point....it's a cow with udders right? Then it can't have horns too. ;) Unless in Bob's world......

  9. Kevin,

Looks really good! We'll be able to see more expression with this face and these smaller glasses.

I would like to see some indication of fingernails, too. Is he wearing sandals and socks? The front of his shoes kind of give that impression. Maybe it's just the inner side of the sole is too flat.

Other than that, he's ready to post the final model.

How comfortable are you with the A:M hair feature? Do you think you could eventually work on his beard when you're done with green monkey?

    Thanks,

    Jim

  10. Here's the final (Yeah, right! But it's approved!) version of Tinman. Originally designed by Will, modelled by Stian, reproportioned by Bob, additional design by Paul, and finally remodelled by Stian and myself. Now that's a group effort. He's shown with his buddy, Scarecrow, to show how they go together.
