  1. I've had TSM for awhile but haven't used it. Now I have a Bipedal model and can't find the naming convention for the base bones or a skeleton that follows the naming convention used by the setup machine. There doesn't appear to be anything on the CD. I know I had a copy of the anzovin rig that I downloaded months ago but had a total wipeout of my window computer. Any suggestions?

  2. I really like the new hair but have yet to figure out how to control it. Is there documentation of the dynamic options controls somewhere? The hair on my model seems to hang down into the scalp leaving a bald spot bigger than mine, even when the stiffness is cranked up. What is (Is rod)? How do you use the constraint function? Does anyone have a good formula for hair? Is it best to use the surface property or use an image? I seem to get a lot of aliasing with smaller hair thickness. Attatched is my most recent attempt.

  3. I know this topic has been discussed before but here goes.

1 Is the reflections tab in the render options where you go to get radiosity?

2 If so I assume the levels refer to the quantity of radiosity. What is a reasonable number to get some significant effect?

3 What are soft reflections and how does the percent affect the outcome?

4 Is the diffuse falloff in the surface tab affected by radiosity?

5 When making a diffuse map for a face what exactly are you going for? Do you put the diffuse map in areas that don't have specularity? What would a diffuse map look like? Would it be small cobblestones of increased diffusion or a gradient of diffuse?

6 Do you need to lighten the color map in areas of increased diffusion?

7 What is the normal diffusion for skin? Looking at a CG news tutorial they said 70% was about right for skin. However it doesn't seem right in AM.

Sorry for the long list but I can't seem to wrap my brain around this feature. I've read every book, thats out on Animation Master, and read every tutorial I could find. Come on, some of you smart Hashers on the list , let loose of some of your knowledge.

    Thanks

  4. I didn't know if this had been commented on before but I was fooling around with a pose and just happened to change the hair style. To my amazement the pose took the change in hair style. The people at Hash continue  to dazzle us. Now if I can just figure out how to get rid of those hairs sticking up in my smile pose.

  5. I like this new feature but invariably I think I'm selecting a control point thats visible in the front of the model, but actually select another one thats directly behind and accidentally move it instead. Would it be possible to have the posterior control point light up with a different color?

    Thanks

  6. Would iot be possible to add a feature that would allow the new hair to be curled?

Maybe a bias handle on the control points. The kink feature just adds wave to the hair but if you could actually twist it then it would really add a touch of realism.

    Thanks

  7. I'm too lazy to put up a web site but would like to post images occasional to get help and feedback. When I pressed the image button and referenced the file on my computer the image wasn't evident on the page, just a place holder. Clicking on the place holder brought up a blank page.

Do I need to put up a web site or can I do this another way?

    Thanks

    Bill

  8. I've had AM for sometime and decided to model a human as a way to improve my skills. I'm not completely happy with the proportions of the face and would appreciate comments from any real artists on the forum. I think she looks too masculine.

There are no decals on the skin, just procedurals. I planned on using the bump and diffuse procedurals as a base for the decals. I was curious if anyone had used this technique with success.

Rudimentary attempts to animate using pose sliders seemed to work really well, but I wasn't completely happy with the model and had to delete the poses. (that was a learning experience right there)

I modeled the body separately and plan on attaching later when the head is complete.

I'm not sure I understand how to post an image, so if no image shows with this message you understand why.

    Thanks Bill Buffat
