  1. For those mac users with towers

    I would suggest to get another drive keep snow leopard on the main drive

    and install lion on the second works excellent and will save the hassle of upgrading all your other aps

    until everything becomes more compatible and or some issues worked out

    try it you'll like it

  2. Hi Michael

    Lets start here

    make sure you have the plugins

    go to your hard drive / applications/ Animation Master 16.0 folder

     

    look for the HXT folder it should look like the pic (hxt folder with plugins )

    if you do not see an hxt folder or you do not see the plugins in the folder

    do a search for the hxt folder ( command f ) and a search for a plugin such as Align.hxt

    just to see if you have them anywhere

     

     

     

    if you do not have an HXT folder or the plugins are missing from the folder and cannot be found you should reinstall AM

     

     

     

    If however you do find everything as is just try this

    close AM

    go to GO / utilities /disk utilities/ select your hard drive / select repair permissions /

    restart your computer and try AM

     

    sometimes this helps

  3. Wow, took a really long time to render out that last section. The Vulcanine Arena set made heavy usage of a dark sim texture, which made render times much longer. I did end up rendering some of the backgrounds before hand and bringing them back in as layers to speed up the process, but that only worked when there were no camera movements or interaction between the characters and the background.

     

    I've edited together the entire movie including the new music soundtrack and am almost finished with the sound. There's a couple of places where I need to provide some character vocalizations to enhance the action.

     

    The last thing is the credits. If JimD is reading this, let me know if you'd like a mention in the credits. I haven't done the Paunk! Shows yet, but I did use your transporter sound effect in this.

     

    I got really lucky with finding sound effects on Amazon's MP3 store.

     

    I have been pushing myself all day to get all of the loose ends taken care of. I'm really looking forward to getting to watch the whole thing tonight. It really does feel like a different animal with the musical score.

     

    All that's left after this is to design and build the menus for the DVD itself and put together the extra "making of" featurette. I was hoping to get it to the replicator tomorrow, but it looks like I still have a couple or more days before I'll be ready.

     

    After all these years, it's finally going to be finished and real! :-)

  4. comment about your poster

    It's one thing to take someones concept and use it as a template

    but I would strongly urge you to remove the eyes in the background and

    come up with something on your own ( it's way to close to the original )

     

    little by little you are crafting something that has your mark on it don't stop now

  5. I'm attaching a zip file with a sprite material, a flame targa image, a simple model and a chor. I've been working on this fire material and finally got it to look decent, when it just quit rendering!

     

    I can see the sprite outlines in wireframe mode, I can see the sprites in shaded mode, can see them in the chor in shaded mode, they spew out on cue, but they will not render.

     

    I'm stumped, I know it's a simple one.

     

     

    no problems v16 mac

    i had to turn on multi pass and change it to full render

     

    also tested in v17 no problems in either tga or quictime renders

  6. I have not tried the dope sheet using lion

    and if you are using a tower you can duel boot it with snow leopard ( not that you need a tower) but its nice to have it on separate drives

    and bounce back and forth if needed

    Jutoh

     

    for a comic book iapp you can use

    http://www.codestore.co.uk/ there is a small fee but the templates are all ready made

    and the product is very good easy to do and (you can add a music track if you want)

    bcest app for comic book apps

    pages should be 1069 × 1536 pixels

    you will also need a apple developer license

     

    you can also use pages (mac ) for an ebook

  8. Hey jake

    here's a screen shot from the kindle on my desktop

    your page should fit to fill the screen but it does not

    so thats how it looks on the ipad all that white and smaller

    you have to expand it to read it ( i would guess it is even smaller on a kindle )

    image size for iapd should be 1536 × 2048 pixels jpg

     

    and yes TOO and SO would make excellent ebooks / mobile device things

    it wil be interesting to see how you translate this for 3d

     

    as far as ebooks and the like

    I have books on Amazon and a kindle and your right to expensive

    I think I've sold 3

     

    However I made the book into an iapp and it sold immediately :)

    so I would say digital publishing is the way to go.

    On that note. I do have mixed feelings about digital comics books given a choice I would prefer

    the actual book for collecting (it's so nice to have the actual comic in ones hands it's all about the art)

     

    But things being the way the are the digital world is the way to go

    So I'll see if I can play your book on my ipad
