  1. post-1081-1182575486_thumb.jpg post-1081-1182564116_thumb.jpg

My latest pose. I've added a few expressions and played around with giving him flexible eyes. It makes him much more expressive.

(but he still needs a tongue...)

{edit} I decided my Frog needed a moped, and I was off today...

about 5 hour modeling the moped.

  2. You have some nice poses. The action looks good, even if the timing is slow. But it's a good start.

if you want to practice on animation, you're going about it the right way by working with Thom. When I was starting out I would spend a lot of time making a new character (I guess I still haven't gotten over that) before I'd do any animating, and since I was so slow back then I rarely got any animation practice.

  3. He looks great, but a little request. How does he look cel-shaded? Bet it's awesome.

The shading is just the real-time render from within AM. I just took a few screenshots from the action window. I haven't decided if I'll use a real cel shader on him or not when I render.

Also the decals are very simple one color images, and I think that lends to the cel-shaded look.

    Glad you like him.

  4. As soon as I get some more facial controls built in he'll probably become my avatar. But i don't really need a logo right now. I just want something fun to animate. And I had an idea for an entry in the Lost civilization contest with him, but I dont' konw if I'll have time to do it.

  5. nice pose

Thanks. With this guy I'm going to try to spend some more time getting a really flexible rig (especially face). I usually get tired of rigging before I have a really animatable character, and then the animation suffers since it isn't easy to do everything it is supposed to do.

I've been kicking around some ideas for about him performing in a circus or carnival, but it will be a way down the road.

  6. Haha! funny character. I hope you plan to animate him?

I'm building him as a modeling exercise, and I'd like to use him to get back into practicing my animation. I've been too busy to animate much in a while and I wanted a new character to work with.

    glad you like him!

  7. Here's a cupid :wub:I did for a V-day card for my wife. I didn't have time to animate him. He has only a skeleton and no animation rig right now. I pirated most of his mesh from my faun character, and pulled his feet off a critter on the AM cd.

Lingthing is Ambient occlusion and one spotlight at about 250% from behind for the rim lighting.

Comments or crits welcome, but I probably won't do any more with him now that VDay is past.

  8. I think the work should definitely go on. I did some work a while back, and I still have one scene assigned to me, but after that one I'll be out for an indetermined amount of time. I just can't commit to it like it deserves due to my circumstances right now. But I've learned a lot about what a production goes through (and how much work it really is!) by watching and contributing to TWO. I wish all TWOers the best of luck and I'll keep my eyes on it.

    Cheers,

  9. Sorry you've had no comments. You're off to a good start. I'd suggest moving the body up and down some more on the skip. right now the feet go all over, but the torso stays pretty still. Also, the eyes seem to kind of float. It looks like you're going for a stylized look (seeing both eyes on the same side) but you don't do it consistently.

    keep it up!

  10. I was working on a scene with woot today, and I used the proxy. I was looking around trying to find how to show the FACE controls, and I clicked on a few points. I don't think I changed anything, though. Now the woot proxy gets a little red ! by it. What does this mean?

In A:M there is an option if I right-click on the model called "revert change to SVN file" does this replace the model on my local drive with the one on the net, or upload my local file onto the one on the net?

To be breif: how do I make the red ! go away without messing up the model?

  11. if you don't wanna use pictures you could model the picture exactly how it is then apply it as a decal.

That way, you could make the train go by in the background behind the other objects. If you applied the map as front projection, you would be stuck with no camera motion.

But in a music video, I think you can get away with the painted background.
