  1. I went to double check some of my render clients today, and found out they haven't been running... ::Sigh::

So, I went to run it, and got told there was a new version, download it from the wiki. So I do, install, and it runs fine. (Although Rodney, or whoever, you might want to add the v15WebRenderStuff.exe download link, as I couldn't run the installer all the way until that had been installed (mf71.dll, naturally)) It shows (blinks) the buckled (connected) icon in the taskbar, and when I double click, I'm still being told there's a newer version, and to download it from the same said site.

No jobs have been rendered since updating. Any thoughts?

  2. Can we fake the cloth with some dynamic bones? Like the belt? Would that work better in calculation time, or more of a pain? I imagine that a dress like that would have a little bounce, but doesn't need to "flow".

    Just a thought.

  3. Of course we won't judge the first rev! We'll judge them all! ;)

What Nancy said made a lot of sense, and I could see the final a lot better. I really should just leave this in her hands. :P

Still, I'm getting the impression of at least her being cross-eyed. Forgetting the whites of the eyes, the iris and pupil look closer together than they should. ::Shrug:: Sorry, I'm not a pro at designing faces, so the best I can do is be vague. :P

  4. Ken, just my thoughts, but... Her eyes look a bit alien-ish. I understand the need for size, but the width (and offset), just worries me. I forget how much of this transfers from Nimmie...

Anyway, just my thought. I'm good with it if that's how it goes. :)

  5. Hey? I was referring to the Face poses. Mark did most/all of the body rigging for TWO. As far as I know, he's on board for SO and he may welcome some help.

Mark and David, right? Yeah, I figured they'd be at it again, but I was just curious how far you were taking your characters. :) (If you're the model machine AND rigging, I might want to kill you. ;) ) Thanks, Ken. :)

  6. Speaking of animation, Ken, are you rigging these characters? Or are you waiting to finalize them before? (Or just waiting for the SVN?)

Thanks to the tutorials on rig installation, I think I can help rig up a few characters. :)

  7. The pretty face, it's far less Wootish and I love the sailor suit :)

Boots and corkscrew hair. Will the puffiness of the sailor suit be difficult to manage from an animation perspective?

Animation shouldn't be too hard with puffed clothing, but it really depends on how it's done. Normal maps and displacement might be best for ruffles/folds, for example.

And I definitely vote for the corkscrews. :)

  8. Am I the only one catching a sense of floating? ;)

Not fond of the environment. (HA! I finally found a critique for his projects! What? It's only part of something he's working on?! SO WHAT! It's a critique! He's HUMAN! ;) )

  9. I always thought Grievous had a grasshopper look to him. ;)

Hey man, I know how you feel. When I was really learning A:M, I had to share the only computer that could run it with 9 other people. Well, more like 6. Not everyone on my family uses it. ;) That was one computer out of 2!

Now we have... Several (never enough... ;) ). Now I'm the "head IT guy", the one who fixes all of them. I sure wish we could go back to just having 2 computers. ;)

All that to hopefully put a smile on your face. :)

Your model ROCKS, man! I'd never finish what you finished in such a short time! What you did until you got bumped off I would need a week for. :P;)

Keep it up! Slow and steady!
