Are Weightmover and A:M Weights obsolete now?

I was rigging a character this weekend, using the new control points weights in V11. It seems to have all of the control of these add-on products, and was incredibly easy to set-up. I had purchased Weightmover, but never got around to using it. I mainly wanted it because of the way you could do scales and other things that you want to not stretch as they bend. Now you can just click "Balance Connected" in the Control Point Weights dialog, and it's done!

The process was so simple, and the results so good, that I wondered if there was any reason for Version 11 users to use them, or if they were only really useful for Version 10?

Hi!

What kind of area use it?

Maybe a long neck or tail?

Can you show me some capture screens?

Maybe I'm interesting in your new model!

Thanks,Sharky ;)

I used it everywhere! Hips, shoulders, elbows, knees, torso, between fingers, wrists! I didn't even have to compute CP weights, you can just select a group of cps, right-click and edit CP weights--that is where you can add influence from other bones via a drop-down list an either "balance selected" or "balance connected". You can adjust the percentages and tweak it easily. It is super cool!! B)

Here is the character that I'm working on:

Weightmover is still wonderfully useful! I've been rigging my characters in v11 and I find it easier to rig the shoulders and hips initially with the weightmover (which takes 10 - 15 minutes generally), and then play around with individual cps weights to fix any areas which don't move the way I want them to.

Weight mover is definately not obsolete in my book!!
