Importing a very expensive .obj file

Hi.

I've been reading that A:M imports .obj files but with some problems in the earlier releases. I have v13.

The issue is that I need a real good kick-ass dinosaur for a project -- and I suck at modeling anything 'real'. I found this one on Turbo Squid:

...But it costs a lot of money. I'll make the investment if I had some kind of comfort that the .obj file will import correctly and that I could add Walk Cycles, animate it, etc. (since I can't return it).

Anyone have experience in importing .obj files in v13? Anything I should be warned about?

Thanks!

DirectorDave

No guarantee. Most likely it will have too many polys/patches to animate well and they probably won't flow well due to the import plugin having to guess that information. Then you'll have to fix them in AM and that will mean redoing the textures.

Exporting objs is much less problematic.

I'm not sure who the modeler is, but there's a pretty cool T-Rex model on the Extras DVD...

EDIT--Not sure why the old image is still here... realized I had the eye target off in the first one...
