stinkyu111 Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 anyone know if i install QT 7 ( free download ) , would i lose all the add ons (from 6.5 pro that i paid for) not sure where to look for that answer ... thanks SM Quote
luckbat Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 What add-ons? Do you mean plug-ins? You may need to re-install some of them, if they have been updated for QT7. If you were a Quicktime Pro owner, Apple will require you to re-upgrade to Pro under version 7. Quote
TeresaNord Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 When I upgraded my QT to QT 7.0.4 (free download) it completely wiped out all of my previous QT files. I realized this when I was having troubles with the new QT and was trying to get back to my old one. I don't know if yours would do the same though, because I didn't buy any of the plug-in things that you're talking about. Anyways just as a side note, from my recent QT experience I had trouble with QT 7.0.4, but I reinstalled 7.0.1 and everything works perfectly fine so far. (so I don't know what was going on there, but I thought that might be helpful)...maybe Quote

What add-on?.......i mean the Pro features ( mini video editing ...and saving QT file off the web ) and the re-upgrade.......that's going to cost me ( ok i'm cheap lol ) i just hate the world of of it's been 12 month since paid us some $$$ ....and here's your chance now. the only reason i'm asking is because i'm noticed that some (QT mov) lately have been download to view and it's just a white screen and a message ....( go buy the upgrade ) or your missing a plug in just thought i ask thanks SM When I upgraded my QT to QT 7.0.4 (free download) it completely wiped out all of my previous QT files. I used QT4 to QT6 (Pro and non-Pro) on a PC with no problems whatsoever. If your experience was the norm then QT on the PC would have died years ago. Quote
