I'm confused - V13 Alpha9?

I have the Yeti CD V12.0t of A:M. I see that there is a version 13 (with various Alpha release numbers) available. Is this an "unofficial" test version or something? Just curious why I wouldn't want to use V13 instead of V12.

ver 13's are in alpha right now... there are some bugs in them. they are being sorted out... you need to download the latest version of 12.0, I think it's "t" (which I see, you have) if you download and use any of the 13s... be aware any of the models you use to render in 13 will not re-open in 12.
