  1. Just thought I'd give everyone an update, but for Rodney mostly, because Rhett was brilliant AGAIN....We worked over Skype just now for about 1 hour and 45 mins. and he got me up and running this time!!!!! I'm so excited, now I can animate on TWO!!!! We went through svnX and reconnected a lot of broken links. Anyways, thanks Rhett!

I am eternally gratefull! :D (I wish there was a little green alien squeaky toy picture)

  2. What about if you do an update through SVNx or Tortiose. i don't know if it's still the case but for a while , at least, A:M needed a few clicks of the "Receive" button to update all your selected directories.

I just updated and put svnx on my mac, and I just put Tortiose on my pc. I haven't had a chance to try to load the scene on the pc yet (i'm at school and i'm trying to write this reply before quota time kicks me off again). I'll try clicking 'receive' multiple times when I get home. (yesterday i had to push it a lot on the pc to get it to load)

Or, if it's already been committed, revert your file. That should revert it back to the last updated file. Me thinks.

Can you right click the file on a mac and tell it to commit or revert, like you can on a pc? (I saw people committing files like that at the hash bash) I don't get those options though when I right click the file on my mac. Is this normal?

This is probably meant that the community server needs to be rebooted.

Cool, thanks Noel, so it's not just me, that's great news! :)

  3. Rhett- I put the cho file on the desktop so when I updated svn it would be replaced like you said, but when I hit recieve I don't think it's updating, becauseI have the same problem as before (which shouldn't be happening). So it looks like maybe the problem is something about svn not updating my current files or something. I dunno, but I'll work on it later today if I get a chance after school and work.

    Edit-

Ahhh, I signed out of the community panel and A:M unexpectedly quit, Exception #023 Socket Error in Stream, I get the same error message now every time I try to sign in?

My computer is screwy <_< .....or its operator

  4. Oh, sorry Rodney! :)

Rhett is brilliant and walked me through the terminal and text edit programs (which I didn't know how to use or even that they existed) to help me locate the errors in my .cho files and then when I found em I sent the files to him to be fixed.

  5. Could somebody else who knows what they're doing try to open _2_01_10a for me? Pretty please. I need to find out if it's the scene that's the problem or if the problem is me. On both of my computers the scene won't open because of some unresolved conflict. Rhett and I tried to resolve it a couple weeks ago, but for some reason that didn't seem to work for me. I think svn is working ok on both of the machines I've tried it on. My mac now has svnx and the pc has tortoise svn, neither will open that scene though. Ok, well, I guess I better go. Any help or suggestions of how to go about this hurdle would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  6. Cool, the Update and Commit buttons appeared today. (thanks Rodney)

I still have trouble opening _2_01_10a though, I don't know why (something about the scarecrow bedroom proxy). Maybe I'll try loading and opening something else to make sure that everything but that scene is working properly for me.

PS- I can't believe how fast you can select the scene you want on the Repository URL with a PC, amazing.

  7. 4. When you have the parts you need checked, press ok, on the repository browser, and the options panel.

    5. Then it will bring up a dialog asking you for your forum sign in name and password. Instead email willp@hash.com and give him your forum user name and a password you want to use for svn. (We haven’t had time to tie it to the forum login yet)

    6. Then it will bring up a dialog asking you where to ”check out” from. Press ok to download the data to the folder you specified. (Don’t change any info here unless you know what you are doing).

So, I'm trying to get everything installed on my dad's PC instead of my mac, and I already have v. 13 beta 4 downloaded and I also have tortoise svn setup. Anyways, as I follow the svn walkthrough and go to the movie tab I don't get the receive button, so instead I get to the repository URL button through the tools menu. After I select the Shard Data, Libraries, and my scene and click "ok" twice as instructed... nothing happens. I made sure that the enable svn box was checked. Does anybody know where I went wrong? I have to tell you I'm getting use to PC's again, so I'm not exactly sure what to do? If anybody needs a screen shot of something if that would help, I could do that, but I don't know what keys it is for a PC.

Anyways, if anybody gets a chance to help me, I would greatly appreciate it! :)

    Thanks, Teresa

  8. The cut to his face is too soon and you see his hand going down again.

Yes, there the timing is slightly off, but I'm talking about RIGHT after that when it zooms out and he's far away from the camera, his hand is coming down still! hee hee

*and yes I have a fast internet connection :D

  9. It looks terrific, wonderful, outstanding, cool, I could go on...

Um, I know we aren't done with it, but after Woot's first knock did anybody else notice that he brings his hand down twice?

    Very cool stuff! :)

(my dad just watched it and he likes the textures better than Over the Hedge) :D

(thanks for posting it, my parents are convinced now that I have to get everything up and running ASAP, so I can get working on it again. Maybe I'll get a cheap PC for graduation after-all) ;)

Edit- Cool, cool, cool, COOL!!!! My dad's letting me use his extra computer in his office to animate on and it's a PC, so I shouldn't have the svn problems that I've been having! I'm installing everything now! (:

  10. I agree with Rodney and I like the second head squash a lot. The first one looks out of place, but man oh man, that second one looks pretty darn good!

  11. I'm not a stress case... :D well, maybe sometimes  but, definitely not over hash frapper :P

(I'm silent most the time in person, but very wordy on the internet, so I'm afraid I come across pretty stressed out, oops) :D

    thanks luckbat :D

  12. Sorry, I'm not from Alabama, and this is straying off topic, but I just went and looked at the hash frapper again and my pointer is gone? I still appear in the slideshow though, do i need to redo my location? <_<

  13. the Comdex of '04 in Las Vegas I was there roaming through the stalls

So I chose to suffer for 4 years instead.

What a great thing it was to finally open that package when I bought A:M in '98.

Silly Rodney. If you waited 4 years to buy it, since the Comdex of '04 in Las Vegas, wouldn't the year that you got it be 2008? <_<:D

  14. I hear a few pops I don't like in my delivery, and some other technical things that need fixing (mostly in my lines... grrr).

Funny, I hear the same thing in mine. :P

I could've done this <_< or that <_< or these parts differently

Anyways, i think your voice sounded perfectly fine. :D

as the saying goes, "you're your own toughest critic." Right? :P

Added- Oh yes, and thank you Dylan for doing a wonderful job directing!

  15. Dylan Perry agreed to be director.

    Rhett Jackson became Project Manager.

I think Rodney summed it all up with, "outstanding." I just had to throw in that I think this is wonderfully exciting news and I'm very happy about it. After meeting these two and working with them at the hash bash I can without hesitation say that we're in good hands.

    Nice work guys. :D

  16. Those who have laptops brought their own. I don't have one, which is why I went on all the site seeing tours.

I don't have one either, Heath and Martin let me borrow theirs to work on, which was very kind, so thank you. :D Noel kept trying to get me to make a post on here as Martin, since he wasn't logged off the forum, but I didn't. :P Nice try though, Noel. ;) There were a couple extra computers that floated around. :D It definitely made me wish i had a laptop though. <_<

  17. Yeah Josh, I experimented a lot with that. If I figure it out though, I'll post it as a JPEG.

I would also like to give an especially BIG THANK YOU to Martin and Gwynne, you TWO were excellent hosts and extremely generous! (and everybody else at hash headquarters Will, Noel, Ken, Steve S., Bob etc.) ;)

Dylan, Jody, Paul, and Rhett you guys helped me soooo much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I don't know what else to say. All of you were a tremendous help and very patient with me.

... and of course Rodney, William, Dhar, Steve, Peter, and everyone else (there's way too many names to list here) I'll miss ALL of you.

You can definitely count me in for the bash next year... three days goes by way too quickly! :)

  18. Wow Peter, I can't believe how well your voice fits that character!!! That's great! :)

    Woot's kinda girly!!! :P

(it's still a little weird to hear my voice come out of a little boy (i was his scratch voice)) ;)

    Good work everyone!

  19. Here's a cool collage i put together just now for the front of my binder.

This way I can pretend that I'm not in high school during the day. :D

Until this trip I wasn't tired of high school, but my first day back I realized how much I can't wait to get out of there and start doing what I love to do. Urgh, now I can't hardly stand high school.

(mumbling to self- one month left, one month left, one month left....)

Unfortunately this collage might only agitate my condition of wishing that I was at home animating during school... Oh well

(the only way I could put it on here is with a screen shot, all the other ways wouldn't load)

and yes I used some other photos from the site that weren't from the bash ;)
