Hey guys,
I stumbled across this facial animation tutorial today on Victor Navone's blog!
Check it out! It's really cool!
He analyzes a 10 frame clip of animation he did on Dash in The Incredibles!!!
-
Is it me, or does it sound like I say "oh I do ask question constantly sire" instead of "oh I do ask questionS constantly sire?"
Anyways, it's looking really good Dhar

That is an awesome piece of character animation, Robert! I like it! Oh, I can just watch it over and over again! There's so much to observe, this'll keep me busy for awhile!
Thanks a bundle for posting this! (can't wait to see more)

That is a most excellent rendition Robert!
I really really really really REALLY like it!!!
In fact I agree with Nancy.....I LOVE IT!
(you should record Woot's verse too )

Ah shoot, I forgot to tell you that that was the last animation meeting I can attend.
School starts next week and my last class doesn't end until 3:30, so there is definitely no way to get home in time.
Anyways, I better go to work right now... I'll miss attending the weekly meetings

Great job Rodney!

I did a google video search for Ray Bolger as the scarecrow...
So here's a reference for how he walks while playing the role.. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=24...of+Oz&hl=en

Those are some great loons!!!

Okay...I'll post this, but I've already talked to Rhett and I need to change his eyes. (Woot is supposed to be looking to the other side at the Tin man and Scarecrow waiting for what is going to happen next)
but here it is anywho (the eyes will be quick to fix likely effecting the eyebrows too).......

Alright, I'm on it!!!
(I liked the leaning forward at the end too!
just wanted to make sure before I dove into it again

Sorry I've been so busy, but now I finally have a free day to work on this scene again!!!
So I started out today by acting it out again.
Before I animate it like this though, I was just wondering what you guys think?
(I tried to follow the ideas you gave me)
[attachmentid=20330]
I just can't decide whether to have Woot lean forward while he's listening or to have him lean forward at the end...in a position to say something.
Opinions would be greatly apprectiated! Thanks

That's one cool set! Great modeling! I love the cottage and the sky! Very cool!

Aha, that must be why I'm having trouble with Woot's hands in my scene...I have v13f. I will have to update.
Looks good Cory

Hey Mark,
That's so cool Nancy had a book that will work!
Anyways, I've been lurking in this post and just watching instead of writing, but there's something funny about the scoot on the bed. Rather than describe what I think you should try...(cause I'm not entirely sure) I would suggest that you act out scooting off a bed in person. I tried to scoot off the bed as Scarecrow does in the last post and I couldn't do it. I think that might help anyways...
Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see more!

Thanks everybody for all the replies! Your advice has been most excellent and I agree very much. I will start implementing these changes first thing tomorrow!
and Dhar... what? bones channel editor set to zero slope? I dunno
Alright, well, thanks again I'll try to post a modified version at the end of the day tomorrow!
Thank you Thank you Thank you
(ps- Rodney I thought his grin at the end was kinda weird too)

What's happening in my scene:
Woot is listening to the Tin Woodman talk about Nimee Amee...he then turns his head and has a hopeful expression (this is right before he offers to accompany the Tin Man on his journey)
Alright....I was going to wait until I got this scene down really good until I posted it, but then I realized that that was dumb reasoning and it would be more efficient if I just conquered me nerves and posted it to get advice.
I know what I have so far is definitely not where I want it...
and I'm very very open to opinions and critiques...in fact I really need/want them
I think I might need to add in a second blink, maybe towards the very beginning of the shot. I also know that Woot's left hand fingers are not in the right positions. (I remember somebody at the hash bash demonstrating a hand thing that you could adjust, so the fingers don't curl at the same time. It seems to me that the control for that is in use in this shot, but I can't seem to remember where the control is so that I can adjust it properly). As I'm also super new to animation getting use to the timing is difficult, so I'm sure my timing is probably off in this shot too. (I don't like how I have his arms coming up...I know you aren't supposed to have things like that move at the same time...so I'll have to play with that part). His grin at the end is a little cheesy....hmm might have to rethink a hopeful look...
I also had some difficulty rendering it out... I had the hair turned off in my chor in order for it to render out faster, but it rendered the hair anyways..
Oh gosh, I really don't want to post this, cause I know it's bad....but here it is....(insert emoticon biting finger nails)[attachmentid=20068]
Any helpful pointers will be greatly appreciated

Hi Henry and tcmdoc66!!!
WOW, Sheridan college
Oh and Henry I love your avatar, The Incredibles is one of the best movies ever!
Anyways, welcome to animation master. It's a blast and has a super duper great community. I can't wait to see some of your work!

ummm...I dunno....the CYT boy sounds more like a boy than I do! (which is a good thing)
Whoever we decide to go with I think should redo a couple lines....like I could redo the lines where I come across too girly or the CYT Woot could redo lines where he doesn't show enough emotion.
(Rhett- if you would like me to post some samples of my latest Nimee Amee and Tin Girl recordings I can, just let me know)
Thanks, Teresa

I love the idea of crossing out the "o" in POPulation! lol
That's so brilliant....of course the loons wouldn't want "pop" written on a sign, since they're balloons and all!

If I'm not mistaking...
Woot makes up stuff to get inside the castle (news from the village etc.) and he's being very dishonest, but when he gets to talking to the Tin Man he is really excited and happy that he doesn't have to make anything up and can really answer the questions honestly now (and the Tin Man is actually interested in what he has to say, which makes him even more excited).
This change from dishonest to honest comes when Woot is trying to think of the "great deal he's learned in his many travels"...."well......actually the more I know the less I realize that I know" this is the first time he tells the truth, and the Tin man tells him the best way to learn is by asking questions and thus is where Dhar's scene comes in...Woot is being very sincere here as far as I know.
hope that helps
