  1. not sure if its in your area but i always been happy with cable vision (optimum) fastest speeds in the country (101 Mbps down / 15Mbps up) and has had the best service award 6 years running.

and their optimum business section is top notch

  2. a while ago yes.

a friend of mine (a computer hardware god) built a 256 core machine. it was about 7 feet tall and about 10 feet wide, 6 feet deep.

these processors were old (only 1GHZ) the thing ran for about 2 days and got a very impressive bench mark of about 2 mins a frame at 1080p rez per frame. so every min we rendered 128 frames.

so with that at 24 frames per sec. and doing a 10 min short (14,400 frames) it would take you 2 hours and 27 mins to render the whole thing

after the second day the machine overheated from lack of proper cooling (we needed a freezer really to run it correctly)

the machine cost about $22,000 from what he was telling me with all the part but the software was custom.

the only thing you would have a problem with is cooling. this stuff gets hot.. really hot. so buy a A/C unit just for the thing and keep it at 55.

  3. ok time to dust off this project (cough! cough! man its dusty)

ok we had to take a month long break since my friend is in military and dealing with the hurricane rebuilding effort.

but since most of that is out of the way we are going to start getting back on track (well mostly me, he has 3 weeks of school to catch up on)

i been doing some lighting tests for some extra scenes i wanted to throw in.

this render took about an hour on my 7 year old machine.

got to go thru the files and see whats done and isnt done.

  4. i got power back yesterday.

my town got wrecked by the storm. but we fair a lot better than other towns around us.

i live in Jackson. my studio that i had for photography is out in the ocean now.

it was right off the route 35 bridge going into seaside heights.

lucky for us we moved our equipment out of there a 2 days prior to the storm.

so i need to find a new studio.

Im just feel blessed to have power, better yet a home compared to some friends who lost their houses.

we are getting a lot of help but need a lot more in some of the more harder hit areas.

I'm in east Windsor NJ, still no power. We just had a lot of wind damage, a lot of power lines down.

That image is the mantoloking bridge, I'm in construction (flooring) and was working on a job about 2 blocks from there. Most of the jobs I've been working on, are in that area. I may be out of work for awhile. It's going to be awhile before we can get back in there.

    The damage there is unreal!

yeah im hearing that they have to rebuild the land first before they start construction on anything. they said they might widen that area by 100 ft on each side

but these are just rumors im hearing from my construction friends.

called my friend (business partner) hes talking with the landlord about the property and said hes going to rebuild so our lease is on hold until then.

  5. A lot of stories just never get told. Hope you get the help you need, jason.

Oh well be OK. Store is a store. Can always find a new one. But there was a lot of homes

Around that spot too. Those are a lot harder to replace.
