  1. open the model in a text editor do a search for oldname, replace with newname, should be the fastest way to fix it (The problem should be in the targets in the constraints properties, but manually fixing all in AM would be a pain)

  2. I was thinking I may stick to v13 but buy a download copy for a friend who has a considerably more powerful rig (I only have a 2 year old laptop) so he can render stuff for me. If v15 can take the files smoothly and has double processor support it might work out.

  3. Okay I have one last question, do projects and models created in v13 work seamlessly in 15? When I last upgraded from 11 to 13 there were some issues with materials that no longer worked. Anything along those lines?

  4. Incorrect. Both show at render time. Pressing I hides the selected model. Pressing H hides any model not selected. Simple as that.

Must be a newfangled thing, I should probably keep my mouth shut given I'm still using v13 :)

(But hidden geometry in muscle mode does not appear at render time, unless they changed that too)

  5. H only works in muscle mode when you have part of the geometry selected, it hides the rest. I is the one you click to hide a whole model in chor mode, you have to click the icon in the project workspace (The one beside the hand) to make it visible. (H)idden geometry does not render but anything made (I)nvisible does, it's just to lessen the clutter while you work.

  6. This guy made a Saber model in AM

If you click on the first post, the blue girl, it's actually a gorgeous animated gif. Thanks for the site.

Yeah but that's not actually his work (The model, the animation is), he's just commenting about a free app you can download here

His work is the gorgeous Saber and Rider models, here's another page with his works, here's a detail page of the Saber model construction with plenty of wireframes and construction shots

  7. On the other hand the fact that a new user can hop aboard for 50$ is interesting.

Is there any flexibility with the hardware keys? I have 2 PCs one I use for dedicated rendering. Would it be possible to get am running on both or do I have to buy another 50$ license?

you´ll have to buy a second license... i for example own 3 copies, and i´m considering to buy a fourth one.... and still i think it´s incedibly cheap for a application like a:m...

So, I'm running v13 right now, I tend to skip updates, went from 8 to 11 to 13. Bearing in mind this will force me into annual updates (Not too expensive though I agree) what's good about the latest version? Any upgrades to toon rendering and the like?

  9. You mean if I upgrade to the current version it stops working come january 1st? I didn't realize that.

I don't see any option to get the current CD at update prices. Do I have to pay 299 if I want to upgrade with a CD?

  10. At the very top of the PWS is the Project Object which all other objects are under. Select this and bring up it's properties. Expand this and you will find the properties for the plug-in. This will allow you to set the location of for your backups. I set it to a folder I create under my workspace (i.e. the folder I'm using for my project, scene or model or whatever I'm working on). It works great and has saved my tail several times (V14 latest). One thing, if you need to recover a project file do not open the file from the saved location -- copy it to the folder you are working in first.

    Cheers,

    Rusty

Aah, there it was. Thanks a bunch Rusty, it was driving me crazy.

  11. Fine model you've made there, although I can't help thinking it might be a little patch heavy still... compared to Joe W's hunter or my own models, I feel she could lose a spline loop here and there and keep the shape definition pretty much the same while improving animatability.

Regarding the rigging in mid animation, when I discovered the smartskin feature that lets you tweak in the middle of an action I was quite taken with the idea, but then I ran into problems with popping CPs and the difficulty in locating smartskin keys once created. If you have any solution for this I'm

    all ears :)
