  1. Thanks Carl, I just submitted my membership request and hope to hear from the Chicago Master's soon. Unfortunately, I have another commitment the first Saturday of every month, but currently that rotatates between morning and evening meetings, so I should be able to make every other meeting. Thanks again. Jeff
  2. Newer Information. Okay, I'm not sure if this will have any side effects, but this resolved my problem. I went into the Left thigh relationship and deleted the IK Leg Setup, under User Properties. The calf bends fine now and the smart skin for my thigh still works. Hopefully, this helps someone. I have an idea about why this happened, but if someone with real knowledge could tell me that would be GREAT. Thanks all.
  3. New information. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I found that I had a circularity in the thigh smart skin. When I deleted the thigh smart skin, the calf smart skin works fine. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to rebuild the thigh smart skin, right now. I'll try later and see if the problem comes back. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
  4. Good or bad, I'm actually creating the smart skin from the model window and not an action. If this is a bug shouldn't someone else be seeing this. Have any of you used this rig and if so how is the calf smart skining working for you? I'm running 11.d
  5. As far as I know I'm applying it to the geometry bone. But I'm not 100% on the difference. I select the left calf in the modeling window (bone mode) then do a new smart skin. I only see one left calf. Are there athers?
  6. Hey guys, Here's the issue. I'm using the 2001 Rig in one of my models. When I smart skin the biceps, forearms, and thighs they work fine (both with IK setups off or on.) However, when I smartskin the calves they only work with IK leg setup off. I think someone else may have had this problem. Can anyone tell me how to fix it? Thanks.
  7. Okay, Thanks all for your input, but here is what I did to resolve the biggest problem. I deleted the relationships folder then dragged it into my model again. This completely resolved the problem with the feet. There is still a slight bend down the leg but I can live with it. Thank you all for you help. Jeff
  8. Mike, Thanks for the input, but I should mention a couple of things. 1) I've tried closing and reopening the action window, even deleting and creating a new action window, but nothing changes. 2) I'm extremely new to A:M and animation in general. I feel comfortable deleting the null, but I am curious about the side effects of that and how will it influence my ability to properly animate my model. I'm stating this because I don't feel comfortable rebuilding the null and all the proper relationships. 3) I did go into one of the relationship properties, but I could not change the rotation percentage. Is there a way to unlock these percentages so that I can change them? I appreciate your help. Jeff
  9. Hello all, I'm having a problem with a model I recently rigged with the 2001 Skeleton. When I turn "IK leg setup" ON the feet turn in and point up. The legs also bend forward slightly (starting from the thigh) but the most visible problem are the feet. Can anyone tell me why and offer some input to resolve this. Thanks Curled_feet.mov
  10. Excellent point Rodney. I'm so use to face to face that I often discount the internet. That being said, face to face IS prefered, but I am definitely willing to work over the net. Thanks for the insight.
  11. Within the next decade they expect a big movie to come out of some one's home. I'd love to be a part of that. I've been writing short stories for years and have recently written a screen play for a Sci-fi/Action adventure. I asked some friends if it was possible to Animate it and that led me to A:M. I have some drawing abilities, but no animation experience and surely not computer animation, but I'm learning. But I need help. I'm looking for a group of 2 to 4 people to help me produce this 1 hour film and if this takes off possibly producing more films. At the very least a group of individuals willing to get together to help each other learn the fine art of animation. WHAT DO I HAVE TO OFFER. 1) I have better than average artistic ability. 2) I have excellent writing skills 3) I'm creative. 4) Discipline. 5) Excellent organizational skills and excellent at organizing others. 6) Team play. 7) A fierce commitment to completing what I start. WHAT I'M HOPING YOU HAVE TO OFFER. This is as a team, not each individual member. 1) A strong foundation in A:M. 2) Live within an hour of each other. 3) Willingness to do what you can. 4) Skills (Artistic, sound, special effects, web design) 5) A serious passion for the art. 6) Never give up attitude. 7) Team player. 8) Get along well with others. 9) Flexible If you're interested respond back and we'll workout something. Thank you.
