If you look at the end of the render all the white cylinders in the mesh are fans. There are quite a few but most of mine overlap each other to ensure that the models would make it through the vac's tight bends. You can get by with fewer if you set the magnitude of individual fan's to a high setting in order to " catapult " your model through using residual momentum - it's all trial and error really.

I wasn't trying to achieve any "look" with it and it is double hulled to avoid any geometry intersections as the caveman model is fairly complex for newton to handle thats why the " glass " looks funny. Setting up a model's that require physical interaction requires some trial and error as sometimes the model might get stuck due to small inner radius tubes and sharp bends. It's kind of like designing a real vacuum cleaner.

Hi fellow hashers, I have included a very low quality render ( 2 passes ) of the new hash vac. The animation was done entirely with the newton plugin by using various fans of positive and negative magnitude ( suck and blow ) to move the caveman through the vac. I have attached a green light to the caveman model so you can follow his path through the vac. Like I said low budget render but hope you enjoy and a big...huge thankyou to Steffen Gross. Look out Hoover , Hash is king! and in the vortex house there is another low quality scud render of the vortex force and newton - its twister all over again! newton_vac.mov vortex_house.mov

Dude, That is awesome!!! , I love your textures and water and lighting and rendering- What rendering setup are you using other than 5x5 multipass?. I would love to know more. Keep us posted Loving it Tim

I had a problem when I was decaling a cartoon leopard- each spot was individually stamped on. they were small files but there were probably 200 of them. After decaling each spot on one side I deformed the mesh in an action to flatten it out , saved the action and rendered the frame. I would then use that render as a stamp to replace the many individual stamps. When you do this your decals will look deformed in the action and the render but because you stamp the consolidated decal on deformed mesh in the action it will look fine when you go back to the model window.

thanks I originally made it for the website but now it is also going to be used for landing zone setup presentations and pr material.

Hi, I'm looking into the possibilities of making an interactive learning tool " game " . I have a fully animated 3d model of a helicopter cockpit and I would like to make a program that would show different emergency situations and what they would look like to the pilot in the cockpit. For example if you wanted to see what the gauges and caution lights would do for an engine failure you would just click on the corresponding failure button and the gauges would animate to those positions. So the only moving parts are the gauge needles and the warning lights. All the gauges and warning lights are controlled by sliders at the moment for making animations with am. I do not have any programming experience but i have seen a few software products out there for people like me. Anyway, does anybody know of some software for a non programmer that I could use to create this- Thanks[attachmentid=13696]

Yes, that's what I meant. It works for pure accelerations or retardations, but in the general case, I still don't think there is a solution in A:M. Hopefully this is useful for some anyway thankyou once again ( just call me grass hopper when it comes to expressions) Thanks Robcat, I't might end up on a website, it would be cool to have it interactive where you could make it take off or even fly it around but that is way above my head. Is that even possible ?

Thanks for the support , I have still got to do the medical interior

It took a couple of weeks I think, I did an internet search for old ships and such and then I just started sketching things together that I liked so I guess it's a heinz 57 brand. I'll get around to posting more details on the ship. This puppy has a pretty high patch count but it still renders fairly quick. A lot of reference to basic rigging and stuff was from model ship sites. the more I look at it , the more i think it looks like a shoe.

Spot on, The downy feathers were created using the particle system and a decal to control the color of the hair. I also have a puff pose as shown so he can puff himself up. The name of the movie is lost in the woods and this is a Movie adaptation of a childrens book and the sequel to stranger in the woods. It should be coming out in december on dvd. I'll see if I can get a hold of the clip with sound and see about posting it in the am films section. by the way I purposely left the bird untagged to see if anyone would recognise it . congratulations Nancy

AAVER, I used your project file and it is very cool, I painted one of the blade tips red to see what was going on and used .5% for the throttle pose slider to keep things slow. Acceleration is sweet but when it comes to deceleration the prop actually reverses direction when it comes to a stop instead of just decreasing the angular velocity. It will work for start up and acceleration but not for shutdown, it's very cool and I thank you once again for your effort. Tim

This little guy actually made it to dvd. He ended up being part of an intro for a childrens movie. The intro is approx 1:30 ish long its been a couple of months since I did it so forgive my long term memory. This is not the best pic of him but he will do for now. [attachmentid=12006]

I have not tried your formula out yet thankyou for your hard work

[attachmentid=11998] okay here is a budget low quality compressed dance file, he was grooving to acdc - highway to hell small_caveman.mov

yes that is a sheep in the jungle , but it gets worse, I'm having trouble uploading a small compact 864k .mov file of the caveman - it goes through the process of uploading forever.....on dial up and then it tells me sorry server not found or page un available or something to that effect
