  1. If it's the cd libraries:

    Go to tools/options

    Select Folders tag.

Scroll down to libraries and add the path of your cd library. eg d:Hash/data/library

    Restart the software.

  2. The new look is really a huge improvement. I can see my productivity increase 3 fold without having to constantly shift around those windows ;) I just have to work out how to get that disappearing toolbar at the side. Good work Hash!! :D

PS I see there's still trouble with importing .obj files. Am I the only one with this trouble?.....the image file imports, but doesn't "stick" to the object. Oh well, at least it works in v10 so I can get it in there and save as a .mdl.

  3. Most of the time, I find it's faster to redo things than to try and hack away at an existing model. In fact, it's double faster because I've learned how to do it better along the way. No model is useless, no matter if you use it or not. A good way to model is to work in 2 dimensions first. Then when you are happy with the distribution of the splines, you can start pulling the points out in the third dimension. You may even consider sketching the model first and using that as a background template. Also, remember, you only have to model half the face and flip it over. Happy modelling!! :D

  4. Pretty easy really. Build one vehicle and you can do what you like with it. You can use it for exterior shots and cut it in half (you should build half and mirror it) to de the interiors. Or you could probably stick a camera in there with the characters, or if need be, hide/delete the doors if it doesn't fit properly. That's how I'd do it anyway. :D

  5. AFF: I hope you don't mind...but just to give you an idea, on my monitor, the tree looks right, but the moon is too bright in this modified picture. How is it on yours?

This one has a blue light on it. I couldn't see it in the original as it was all murkey.

  6. I just came across this yesterday! I wanted to re-render an animation smaller using a rotoscope. No lights, objects or anything. It still took about 15 sec per frame to render the non existent geometry

The solution I found was to just turn off everything in the render options. I don't know if that would work for you, but it did it for me. :D

  7. I don't use it much, but the AI importer is a third party plugin (I think...so no docs?) but it works only on black and white ai files. Also, it only produces extruded objects. Perhaps greyscales make curves? Anyway, if you wanted say, a book, you would draw the siluette shape of the book on a white background and import it. This gives you a rectangle shape. I wouldn't rely on the efficiency of the patches in the shapes though.

Regarding your Godliness at splines ;) it takes some getting used to from polys. You might consider getting one of the tutorial cd's on the web. But after 8 days, either you just need more info or (shock horror) you might be a slow learner! ;)

  8. The surveys on the forum are great! I like the one asking which OS you use. I hope it allows Hash to optimize more for the most used OS(on both platforms). I think there should be one asking what hardware we use so they can get an idea of the lowest spec machines in use and optimize to that level. Imagine how AM might fly then!

  9. You can get a peek at the interface and some software usage from watching the instructional videos on the Hash website.

You're right, they are very good! :) I think the constraints and compensate mode video should be re-done though, he seemed to make alot of errors in it. It's 30MB, but without the extra time, it should have been half as big. Otherwise, he does a great job though...whoever he is! :)
