Started working on a new slider model that has hair poses. You'll be able to change color, length and slide to different hair styles. It's still in the early stages, but I thought I'd show you to see what you think. I plan on adding a slider for a ponytail too. I used Jane from the cd for my test subject. Any comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

Try importing your model into the choreography. I was having trouble too with 11e. That was the only way I could get my model back into a project.

Hey Rodney I have a question for you, What do you think of a join effort for the animation or image contest. I know it's off topic, but it could be a feature for the digest. It could show the potential of A:M in a working environment.
-
Johnl, he inspirers me, I love he's tests. The lab is where he would be the best!!! Can't wait for his next one.

The Rodney section is the what's hot and what's not section.

Tut of the month sounds good to me, I'll be reading it.

The digest has great potential, just with tuts alone.
-
Maybe a series of images will work for the motion part, 3 or 4 images.
-
I guess I'll have to keep working on it to see if I can make it any better. The work i've been doing is more geared up for the animating part of A:M.

Thanks Rodney, but my modeling skills are limited.

I did notice something the more I looked at it. The broken branch in front of the nest looks like it's not closed off or it has the same material as the branches. I think I it would look better with a different texture. And how did you do the texture for the tree, image map, materials or something else?

Just hope your teacher doesn't find out.

He wasn't supposed to tell anyone I help him with his homework. Didn't know how to bring up the plug-in on a mac. Thought it would have been the same.
-
Does anyone know how to use the terrain plug-in for mac?
-
Right click in an empty space in the modeling window. click plug-ins/wizard/terrain. That will open the plug-in, then there is a load button. you can load the image there.

This is the link to the plug-in. Install it in the hxt folder under the version of am you are using.
-
Great idea Rodney, but my work wouldn't make the back cover of anything.
-
Don't know how tall or big to make the mountain. but the plug-in works.
-
Do you have the terrain plug-in from toonnation? You can load the image into the plug-in and generate a mesh. I beleive there is a mac version.

Opening anything with hair material? Models crash too.
-
All my projects with a hair material will not open. AM crashes to desktop. Anyone else experiencing this? v11e

I found that going to the view menu and clicking refresh works better than the spacebar. At least for hair it does.
-
Not much to say but AWESOME!!! Looking forward to seeing more.

Heres a quick render for you John.

Looks great. The power of bump maps can be pretty amazing. Can't wait to see more.
