  1. Thanks for the sample. My sample is in my original post.

    I'm thinking of the way the warp engines brighten and stretch just before it takes off.

    Hope that makes sense.

    I like that way that ball moved.

    I couldn't open the second project though.

  2. Star Trek has a rerun at the moment in Holland, I also think it's 'hyperdrive' and 'warpengine' but that aside.

     

    To make the best of the 'Enterprise goto warp'-shot, they placed a shot before that.

     

    The first shot is the camera at speed of Enterprise this make the stars have motion blur.

    The next shot, the cam is at 'speed' of the stars, now the viewer has the illusion(of gigantic speed), then Enterprise even moves faster with a motion blur-trail till it vanished out of sight.

    Maybe layering and add ghost-trail videoFX will do the trick, try-out.

    I tried going to particles but I wasn't sure if the attribute should be sprite, stream or what.

    After that I got lost. I want to get the effect on the letters and not the background.

    So far I've got the letter to look blurry in motion but that's all.

  3. For the stars I suggest using particles but there are other methods discussed here in the forum.

     

    To set up the particle effect one way might be to:

     

    - Set up a Choreography with a Camera pointing straight upward

    - Create a patch

    - Place it in the Chor above the Camera

    - Create a Material and change its attribute to Particles

    - Apply that Material to the Patch

    - Adjust the Materials settings in the PWS within the Chor shortcut to the Material (You will have to toggle on the 'Show more than Drivers' setting). Pay attention particularly to the Preroll and Gravitational elements.

     

    Ajust in realtime (with minimal particles) until you see something you like.

    Turn up the Particles

    Render from Camera view

    Rinse and Repeat

     

    I've had one example that looks pretty good in realtime HAMR view.

    I'll see if I can track it down before JohnL3D can post. Gotta be quick to out-project that guy! ;)

  4. Model three is where the bone to the hand is. When I back away the hand shows up but when I zoom in, all thats left is the bone. As for the large squares, I think those are the CP's. I'm not sure how to shrink them.

  5. Update: I think I solved the problem by making the model bigger. Now I can do close ups and it won't vanish on me. Go figure.

     

    I've got AM 10.5r for the Macintosh G4. I'm using OS 9.2.2 with 1g ram and 10g HD. So I go to bones mode and zoom in on my model. When I get to a certain point, she vanishes. I can't get it to stop. Now if I sneak up on her from the top she doesn't do it, until I rotate using the "T" button to work on her. Then she's gone again. Here are three samples where you can see what I mean. Hopefully, someone's had this problem and solved it.

  6. Thank you kindly. I went in and corrected the problem. Now I have to control the jerkiness. Some of them behave but a few stragglers want to act up.

    OO! OO! I got another question!

     

    How do I make the surface on a house I'm working on look like it has vertical panels? Right now all of the walls are smooth green. I want it to look like my real house which has vertical panels all around.

  7. I'm using a Mac G4; OS 9.2.2 th software is AM 10.5r.

    I'm new at this so after getting my model together, I decided to put the bones to the model. Everything went well until I got to the hands. How can I connect the fingers to the bone on the hand? Also When I went to the action file, the hands were way stretched out of shape. I'm sure it's easy once I get the hang of it.

  8. I have version 10.5.R for the Mac G4. When I go ino bones mode and use the zoom, the model vanishes so that I can't work on it. I'm trying to get the hands to work properly with the wrists but can't get close enough to do anything. Anyone have this problem and can help me? Thanks.
