i like the character... the thigns are a bit too fat... but the fingers are nice... my only problem is the empty space where there's supposed to be a joint
-
my only comment is that it's too saturated... it doesn't look natural but more like 80's 3D. So desaturate it in photoshop, and the suggestion to blur it a bit is not a bad idea...
good luck.
-
wow!!! amazing render... i hope you uploaded it by now!
-
Nice Work... funny idea
-
excellent work... teach me!
-
Wow man, This is excellent work! the rendering and the animation is quite impressive... show me more!
-
very nice work, i just watched it, and reminded me a lot of Aardman's stop motion style of animation (wallace and gromit) had a hard time to phase out of it and remember that it's 3D... i mean that as a good thing of course

akh! i wish i could do something about that, but you see, the webspace is free... and i have to pay for it in one way or another...
i'm studying the possibility of purchasing some good webspace and updating my website... it's pretty old by now (2 years)
sorry about the popups.

I just checked it out, and i have to say it's pretty darn good!!
beautiful work, and to have it sitting on your desk beside you!!!!!
WOW!
-
well, i think the font is a bit too cartoony, go for flat type.
the poses are cool, but you should add some more contrast and maybe a darken the sides of the image to make the viewers attention center on the middle action.
i would also advise you to minimize the text on the poster... and zoom in on the main action (vampire attacking)
of course, you could consider all of the above to be useless blabber by an insane person...
-
i think it looks really cool,
but like the others comments, the edges are too visible. what are you using to key the green out?
-
i'm trying to say something witty but nothing is coming out of my mouth... i had no idea that AM could give you such results!!!!
i guess digging deep into the software does reap it's benefits!!!
beautiful image man. beautiful! i'm now sure that my 300$ are worth a lot more than i bargained for!!!

spoken like a true arab!
i'm working on the children, but my camels (subaru) gobble fuel and give me nothing but miles

Hey Dhar!
I just revisited this thread...
I'm happy to hear that i have a fellow enthusiast originally from this region.
I'll stay on the lookout for your posts.

thanks everybody for the nice comments, i try my best.
i'm doing my best to finish the exercises... but i got married recently and i have to finish my wedding video (i'm editing it).
So see you guys soon with Exercise six.
-
Hello Everyone.
I have finally completed this exercise.
I know that rodney said at the beginning that we have to try and complete the exercise in the give time... but i just couldn't be satisfied with the original result!
I followed the book instructions by the letter! but slipping still occured, and other stuff like that...
So i kept striving for more knowledge (as usual) until i figured out the most i could out of the mechanics of the walk cycle, and the stride length, and so on and so forth...
so here you go... my version of Exercise 5: Take a Walk.

very cool work.
I think what you're doing is pretty well balanced modelling wise.
i'm surprised to see how far you've come from the original sketch (literally )
Keep it up and i can't wait to see the final thing.
-
oof! i can barely get past modeling something small.
I always thought that these things would be impossible in AM.
But the more i browse the forum and try the software, the more i learn that "modelling takes talent" and a lot of PATIENCE!!!!!!
good work. no wait, excellent work!

Hello everyone,
This is my version of Exercise 4: It's a Pitch
Date completed: 07-10-2005
Instructor: TAoAM + AM help
Comments: Again, i tried to focus on the acting and playing around with new settings for light and rendering.
Oh, by the way, it took me a lot more than 1 hour to finish this piece of animation

Hello everyone,
Once again, while doing the exercises, i'm fascinated by how powerful and versatile AM is. (i'm not a newbie in 3d)
My friends think that because it's cheap... it's bad. But i'm a man with a cause now
So here's my version of Exercise 3: Move it
I tried to focus on the acting a lot.
Hope it Worked.
Mich.

hello everyone.
This is my version of exercise 2: chorus line.
I focused my experimentation on camera frame and lighting (volumetrics and shadows...)
date completed: i don't remember
Instructor: TAoAM (and previous experience with 3d software)
commets: i don't think the cancan action works with the characters (their motion is weird!)
but the more i dig into the software the more i'm impressed with what AM can do!
Mich

thanks rodney.
I'll start posting right away.

concerning the arabic part, it means "honor" "sacrifice" "loyalty".
but you have to read it from right to left!
Should i post my work that's not related to the tutorials on another forum section?
and when i do finish some lessons from the tutorials, should i post them on this one?
one more question... why does it say newbie under my picture? and how do i change that?
A job I Just Finished.
