I appreciate the improved tech specs and resolution offered but, aren't there several aps which do the same thing from photos that you take and enter into the program ? I have a vague recollection of one a few years back that used the Xbox cameras (?) or similar to do the scanning?

i believe you are referring to True bones the motion capture people using xbox 360 cameras.

 

and yeah Im aware of the digitizer. but the rubicon is much cheaper.

digitizer $1500

rubicon $ 230 or so.
