AndrewH
Hi, I'm new to Animation Master and am looking to import some simple 3d shapes into Photoshop and After Effects. Can anyone tell me what type of file I would need to export from AM in order to do this? Thank you so much for you help! Andrew
John Bigboote
Hi Andrew- You can render as .tga (TARGA) with an alpha channel for matting. How you use the alpha in PSD or AE is info you will also need to learn.
frosteternal
If you are looking to import actual models - which modern extended versions of both photoshop and AE will accept - the best formats would be OBJ or 3DS, which A:M can export nicely. The resulting objects will be polygonal, and may have some surface artifacts due to differences between polygons and patches, but should work fine. AndrewH
Ok thanks for the tips. Unfortunately, I don't see a way to export a model as an OBJ, just some other format options not recognized in photoshop. I have A:M v12 if that helps. Do I need to install a plug in for an OBJ export?
HomeSlice
Do I need to install a plug in for an OBJ export? Yes. You can grab one for your version of AM here. http://www.innovateenterprises.com/AM/
