Boxster Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Ok so I've been playing with A:M for a couple weeks. In the process of building my first real model. Here's what's done so far. Still have a long way to go before it's done. Love to hear comments and suggestions. [attachmentid=19864] Quote
Stuart Rogers Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 That's pretty good for a first model - I like the spokework on those wheels. If you post a wireframe or shaded wireframe render you might some hints on your spline work, but given how smooth your surfaces are it looks like your splining is OK. Quote
Boxster Posted August 21, 2006 Author Posted August 21, 2006 Here's the frame. High res[attachmentid=19866] Frame with wireframe. As you can see I cheated in a few areas.[attachmentid=19867] And this is a wire of the wheels. [attachmentid=19868] Quote
Stuart Rogers Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 As you can see I cheated in a few areas. That's not cheating - that's knowing what you can get away with! There's little to be gained from building it all from one continuous mesh when you can accomplish the same thing with separate pieces in far less time. Quote
MMZ_TimeLord Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 If you go through the sweeper tutorials, you will see that you could have used it to easily create your frame. and all the frame sections would be round and not pinched in places. Give them a look... otherwise your model looks wonderful! Keep going on it! Quote
Boxster Posted August 21, 2006 Author Posted August 21, 2006 Thanks for the encouragement and hints. Had no knowledge of teh "sweeper" plug in. Very cool. The frame pinched behind where the seat will go. I was going to tweak it and decided it wasn't important. Although knowing how not to have that happen in the future is important. Thanks again. Here's a high-res of the spokes. Damn that took a long time to render. [attachmentid=19872] OK. I'm done posting for now. Gotta go build a transmission and a belt drive and an intake and a carborator... handle bars would be nice too, I guess. Kel Quote
