  1. OK! My car's tires are octagonal. Bad ride. Poor mileage. How can I blow them up so they'll be round like everybody else's :(

    JohnnyB

You probably have the splines on Peak. Choose your tires and hit o to smooth them out.

Not quite sure how to do that. I selected the tires (rubber) and hit o (lower case O) but nothing happened. I pressed the smooth button and nothing happened. They're still octagonal. <_>

  2. We can diagnose the problem step by step. The folks that'll know best are at support@hash.com.

    Here's what I suggest.

Check to make sure the file 'dictionary.dic' is in the same folder as 'master.exe'.

Generally this will of the order:

    C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V13.0

If its missing you can find the 'dictionary.dic' file on your A:M CD.

Last time I saw the file it could be found in:

    E:/Setup/Windows/

Assuming your CD Drive is E of course.

    Thank you!

The file was on my hard drive in the same folder as master.exe, but I copied and pasted the file from the CD anyway, and KeeKat took to it fine!

My hard drive file must have gotten corrupted somehow.

Having you around the place sure makes life easier. :)

  3. I am working on exercise 7: Can you say that?

When I type the secret into the dope sheet, I get a message: "Dictionary modified or index file missing. Recreating Index file."

It then appears to be recreating the file, but keeps repeating this message, over and over. I have to hit CTL/ALT/DEL to get out of the program.

    How to resolve this?

    JohnnyB

  4. When I open A:M, I get a message that says, "Error running scripts on this page. Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?"

Then, while I'm working, I keep getting an annoying ding-a-ling chime. Over and over.

    :( What's happening here

  5. No. The Alpha option is OFF on the camera.

Is it off in the Render to File panel?

Are you using the default "Animation" codec? Don't.

What are you watching them in?

I was watching them inside A:M right after the rendering. I just checked the finished product with Quicktime and the sky is blue :o

  6. just make a dome or a grid and get done with it...heak you can use a material to realy make it look like a sky...also you won't have to worry about all the setting problems...

How do you make a dome?

  7. When I render in Quicktime,

You mean in A:M or in Quicktime?

A:M trying to render a mov rendering so I can post it.

When I watch the rendering time, while Yeti is stomping along, the sky is blue. When it finishes, the finished piece has black sky!

It's wierd. But I've noticed several posts with the same problem.

  8. No they shouldn't make the background black. But they should be off. Is the alpha option on in the camera settings?

No. The Alpha option is OFF on the camera.

Another wierd thing is that when I watch the rendering process, the sky is blue all the way through while Yeti is stomping along, then the finished piece has a black sky.

  9. In the buffers option inside your render options, you need to turn off the alpha option.

I tried that (at your suggestion), and it didn't work. I still have a black sky. Should I do something with the Light Buffers or Camera's Post Effects? Should they be on or off?

  10. Rodney

When I render in Quicktime, I get a black background. It renders sky color in AVI or JPG. What's up with that? Can that be fixed?

Or, what am I doing wrong?

  11. I did Excersise 2. I put the camera motion in by accident hope you still like it.Tell me what you think.

    Dan the Man

I did the same thing with my camera on the chorus line exercise. I wanted to adjust it for a better view, but I did it at the end. Well, the camera just slid along all the way through the dance. It ruined everything. I had to fix it.

Here's what I did: I went to frame 1, selected Camera 1 (I had to deselect Stage first), placed the camera where I wanted it, jotted down the XYZ coordinates in the Properties box under Translate. Moved back to the last frame and entered those frame 1 numbers by clicking on each of the XYZ coordinates. The camera jumped into frame 1 position and there it stayed. ;)

  12. I can't seem to get my posts into the right thread. I go to Exercise 3 and click new topic. Should I click on Reply or something? :(

    Hey JohnnyB,

    click on reply

    Bob Koonce

    Duh!

    Johnnyb

    JohnnyB,

Myself, like many others on this board are only trying to help, you asked a question, I tried to answer your question. next time someone is trying to help you, please try to respond with a little more appreciation that someone is taking the time to answer your post, on some forums you can wait up to a week without a response, or not get one at all,, Duh! just doesn't cut it.

    Bob Koonce

    Bob-

Sorry I offended you, but the "Duh!" meant "Thanks that was stupid of me not to figure that out myself." I really took your post as trying to help, and I really appreciated it.

I was really getting frustrated with my exercises showing up here instead of under the proper exercise list. Rodney kept telling me where to put them and that this was the wrong place. I just never thought of hitting reply. Go figure.

Everybody here has been so helpful to this newby it's just been a great learning experience.

    Thanks again!

    Johnnyb

Oh, my latest exercise is in the right spot and I already got an ataboy from Rodney.

  13. Rodney

Right after I posted the Chorus Line, I found out about the Good Knight and the weak kneed Evil Knight. I downloaded the Good Knight and he slew the Evil Knight and now resides in my library. However, if it's OK with you, since I have footage of Evil dancing not too badly, I'll leave him for all to see. I suspect that, Golum like, he still lurks about on my A:M CD

    Johnnyb

  14. omg....whats wrong with the knights leg?!i learned this resently and what you do is change the ease i think.have it at 100 at the frame you want it to stop and the change it to 0 the next frame the 100 on another.

Check this out. I couldn't make the ease changes work for me. Pulling the leg down with the foot bone stopped the leg from kicking at all. So, I started messing around with the knees and finally got both legs starting and stopping together. Whew!

  15. no offence but i'm gonna be straigt true with you but...the rabbit looks constipated.sorry, but change the eyes.the body is ok, but the eyes look bad...and if you want to make a renderd image when you goto render to file click format and change it to targa then open that and change it to a bmp, also change the frame range to 00:00:00 for both of them that way it will only render one image

Man, I couldn't figure that out. Once I got there, I found a jpg option, so rendered a jpg file. My first post was from a Prt Scr file.

I adjusted his eyes, but I wanted him to look threatening. Does he still look constipated? (I'm kind of a threat when I'm constipated
