  1. Ok, here is an update. Just have to build the neck now. [attachmentid=17464]
  2. Ah , I thought so. Thank you for pointing that out Dhar. I guess it's the reference picture that I am using as a rotoscope is giving it that round look. But I have the strings modeled now, and now I have to do the neck. As far the guitar itself, there is going to be a close up shot. This is a tiny part of the demo reel I am going to make and hope to have done before I finish my education in college. I am looking into a website host that I can use temporarily as my online portfolio and ideas that I can store and put away. Currently I have Deviant Art, but I would feel better if I have someting of my own. So when I get the chance I will post up the storyboard that I am going to draw, out. Contents it's going to have, a nice song, and a catgirl as the singer!
  3. Here is an acoustic guitar that i have started modeling and getting some of the decaling, texturing done out of the way. Once I build the neck, I am curious on how to make the strings twang when I animate it , when the strings are strummed. If anyone can shed light on the subject please let me know, I have an idea, but whethere to use dynamcis or just completely hand animate it all is gonna be a pain in the butt. I have two decals on the model, one I had for the decorative ring around the pickup, When I put the wood decal on, it put itself over it, is there any way possible in order to bring the decorative ring in front , on top ? 4. Another step, followed the tutorial from Force.net and added the blade in [attachmentid=15847]
  5. Hehe yeah Here is a wireframe of the top. I don't know why it went wonky during the render. [attachmentid=15844]
  6. Well it has not even been a week since I got my software . After some fuss and a needed update, i started to jump into modeling. I have learned a lot and I have almost memorized the keyboard shorcuts and it really has made my workflow really fly. I feel proud of myself, and now I would show off a work that just sparked an idea in my head. Voila! A light*cough*saber*cough*..blade..excuse me, had something in my throat. [attachmentid=15843]
  7. Ok, I just got A:M Monday, I installed and got ready to use it to start praticing and learning the ropes. The things I have noticed, KeeKat , in Choreography mode in the Choreography window looks like his right ankle is broken and bent to the side. But when I select model or skeletal mode in the Choreography window, KeeKat is fine. I have found a way to fix it with the IK, but is this a temporary or permanent fix? Also the same goes for Knight when using his premade actions. I used the normal walk cycle action for Knight in Choreography, and his legs walk with the knees going the other way. Is there someway I can get around this, or do I need to find a fix for this?
  8. Or you can clotify an object as a hanky and then use dynamics to capture the particle effects
  9. I would love to help out with that.
  10. I for one had the same questions when looking at Animation: Master. I can tell you this, I got the software so that I can learn modeling and animation on my terms than trying to figure out 3D Studio Max. There are great tutorials you can download or view on www.hash.com and learn master. You will be blown away how simple it is to use and how much power is behind it.
  11. Well im poking my head around here again On Friday, my mom had me make an account at the Hash Store , and she got me my copy of Animation: Master 2006 for my birthday. When I showed her the 17 minute demo and since I am heading into Game Design, she wanted to do something really nice for me. So hopefully when I get it this week I can start working through the tutorials again, and then show you some of the work that I have in mind for everyone to see.
  12. That makes a lot of sense. From what I have seen if you get a team together on Animation : Master, I believe for any type of development, including Game Design, I think you could do wonders with it. Even tho Hash has the true spline based modeling, I think I am going to go ahead and buy the software. All of these programs have the same base principles, but Hash has so far made it the best for the single end-user. I still watch the demo to this day and just glamoured by it. Now I just have to convince myself to save all the money I can
  13. Ok I see, well I am still a newbie to the terms, wanting to figure out where to start. Being that 3D Studio Max is Polygon based, but it does have a N.U.R.B.S. modeling feature. is that the same thing as spline based modeling? For being a bit specific here, I mainly wanted to try to model a character in Studo Max and put it A:M to bone, rig , and animate, since that will be what I will learn to do with polygons. Since more than likely I will be in an animator position for a company , since that's what got me motivated to enroll in the program. But I have a hunch that I am going to need ALOT of spline based modeling experience as well. My art hand is not very good, but I feel that it is different when it comes to 3D. Even though I am still in my first quarter I have a feeling that I will have my Modeling I class here next quarter. Thank you for breaking the truth to me and not leaving me out on a limb
  14. Greetings all I wanted to introduce myself here. First off let me say no matter how many times I watch the demo video, the more and more I become influence to buy the software and get animating. Thing is I have a little dilemma before I get the courage to save the money and buy the software. I am currently a student at ITT Tech, enrolled in the Digital Entertainment and Game Design Program. We will be using 3D Studio Max to learn to model and animate. But since I have been watching the tutorials online, I am just amazed how fast and efficient A:M is with making a model and animating it, especiall when setting up the bone heirachy feature, drag and drop :: jaw drop ::. Now what is going to help me buy this software outright, is that is there a file export from 3D Studio that A:M can take so I can animate and maybe texture a bit in A:M? I want to be able to use this perfectly well with one another so I can work on some projects here and there and show off to some of my instructors and friends. Thanks all, and happy holidays to you all.
