I don't any attachment thingies!
GRRRRRRR!
-
How do I get them up?!?! I tried using imageshack. and I swear, if that hoster had something resembling a neck, I would be strangling it.
But here are profiles instead. A word paints a thousand pictures (or is that the other way round?
Anyway here are the first three characters (who are all cat people by the way.)
Swallow Gabriel
Age: 17
Weapon: Daggers
Magic type: Wind
Swallow has the ability to sprout wings from his back. He is a thief however, and will not think twice about slipping something he likes into his pocket. He is a pretty self-absorbed person, but is a very playful person around friends. The beggining of the game sees him travelling for valuable relics and unguarded wallets.
Erina Carriad
Age: 17
Weapon: Claw
Magic type: Wood
Erina longed to be a ranger, but at the acadamy, she yelled at the teachers, fought with the other students and failed every exam except for comat. After being expelled, she settled in a village called Leiu, where she meets Swallow. Erina is a pretty cheerful person, but her sudden mood swings and short temper can make her hard to live with. She is also a bit of a slob.
Lazuli Benelus
Age: 16
Weapon: Chakram
Magic type: Light
Lazuli fell from the sky in a mysterious ship, persued by a bloodthirsty demon. Swallow and Erina save her and agree to guide her to a nearby temple. Lazuli is a warm hearted but stubborn eco-warrior, and is trying to save the world from its impending destruction. She loves animals and plants and nature in general, and gets angry when people take it for granted. She sets herself very high goals, and can become frustrated when she cannot carry them out.

Here is another question.....
If I want to use an animated model for my game, is there a limit on polygons (I am sure I can only use up to 300) or textures? Or it does not really matter with this obisidan plug-in?
-
I hope so too!
The thing is though, my email address won't work with the GameStudio coummunity. You have to pay for the privilige right?
Anyway, I have some character arts I would like to bring up. Could you guys help on that? This is important because these are the charas who will be born in AM!
-
So I could make the kind of game I want in a few months with GameStudio and Hash rather then years?
The question is.....will my computor handle it? It's just a normal windows XP.
-
I am oh so complicated.
No, the reason is because I grew up playing Nintendo, so now I want to make a series for it.
-
You guys are right.
Seriously, I have just had a look at easy particles and I visualized all of my attack spells and effects with it!
I just saw the sequel to my favorite game for a long time (Tales of Symphonia) go to PS2. and this is the Last Straw. I want Fata Morgana to be a series exclusive to Nintendo, should they want it!
-
Thank you! You like my name choice, that is so sweet of you!
Anyway, I had a look at the engine, and it seems to me that only the first two packages are game creators. The second two require coding and are not click together games. It has a lot of nice stuff on it, its just that a lot of people on Gamedev.org hate it.
-
Well....much as I love the idea of not having to learn programming......the thing is...people don't really take games made in game makers seriously....people just dismiss them.
Where did you hear about my concept? Did you read about it on another forum I have been on? But thank you so much, I am happy you like my ideas!

1. Is expecting AM to create levels just too much? It has created nice enviroments, but should I only really use it to create the game characters? What about small levels, say, like a house or a shop?
2. What is a good game engine to use for it? One that does not suck, and supports .X format?
-
OK, I am going to use AM to create the characters for my RPG.
I am going to show you the character sketches very soon, as a matter of fact, my avatar is Dreamer Parvati, one of the characters.
I am learning C++ for it....so I should be able to get started soon.
-
Thank you! So much!
Could you tell me of a good, free particle creator?
What I would like to do is....let's say I want to create an angel spell. So I want the chara to flap his wings and blast the foe with feathers. So I want to model some feathers in AM, and turn them into a particle effect for the game engine. What will let me do that?
-
I see, so I will use a different engine.
Blitz 3D seems good....
This .X exporter, does it also retain animations/particles ect?
Thankyou!
-
It's here, have a looksie!

Has anybody heard of this engine? It seems like the right one for me, but-
I don't know if it will accept stuff from AM.
Do you know if it can?
-
I love the shurikens and magic staff, and all the other cool weapons!
So I can make all the weapons for my game with AM!
Has anyone done a chakram? (I love chakrams, so I gave one of my charas double chakrams.)
-
I'd like to design the characters!
I am not an animator, but I can make a profile, draw them, and then email the drawings to the team's animator to give them the spark of life!!!!
let's get started!
Erm....do you mind if I do them in the anime style?
-
The engine I am looking at currently is Blitz3D. If I make the characters/monsters/NPCs in AM, how hard would it be to export them to Blitz3D?
It would be as easy as buying the AMXtex exporter for $20 from obsidian games. I have done a fair amount of research, and from what I have come up with, this directx exporter is something of the holy grail of game making including full bones and texture exporting. I have found nothing like it and have found hundreds of people who are unaware of it, but wish and beg for the features it is already delivering to AM users. In my opinion it is the only way to go for making game content.
You can look it over here: Obsidian Games
Does AMXtex really export to Blitz3D? If it does, I think I have got everything sorted.
-
Thanxs! As for gamedev., I think they are contemplating killing me, I must drive them crazy with my constant questions.

Which game engine do you guys use
Cos I am wondering which game engines will acccept AM

Animation master looks great, but tell me, is it a good idea to create things like game characters and stuff with it?
You see, I wanted to use Cinema4D at first, then I saw the complete and utter lack of exporfers and I thought no thanks!
So where are some good exporters for AM?
Thankyou!
Particles
in Game Development
Posted
I have seen some great looking particle effects done with AM, and I was rather disapointed when I found out you can't use them in games.
Well, could I make particle sprites with AM, and turn them into an effect with some kind of editor? Do you know a good particle editor that will let me do this, and use them in a game?
