  1. william,

Thanks for the link to mocap files but what i am looking for is a software and hard ware to create the mocap files that will work with Animation Master.

  2. I just opened a gold gradient reflective material in to 11 from 10.5 and the material will not show the gold color but looks like a silver chrome. Does any one know what may have changed this gradient material color? Are there any heads ups I need to know about when bringing 10.5 materials over to 11 so they look the same as they did in 10.5 ?

  3. Yes I just went through this and what it turned out to be is that the paths for the render slaves to get the projects were being blocked. check on your slaves that you can net work over to the server machine drive were the project is at manually. In my case it turned out that I needed to enter my name and pass word to get onto server machine from the slave machines. Another problem i cam into was with XP and that it does not allow other machines to access the c drive so i had to make a link drive letter we went with Z drive for them to go through if this is your case let me know. My partner is the one that set that up. I will asker her what she did.

  4. For the past year and a half working on a show called Far Star. 7 days a week nothing under 14 hours. I wake, I work, I go back to sleep. I am loving every minute of it.

  5. Thanks William for sharing. Do you know were I could look for information for motion capture to apply to models. Info on software and equipment to do this type of thing in Animation Master.

  6. I got one for the Fellows to ask for and it is very easy and simple and would save a lot of time.

In net render how about it automatically keeps frames in proper order when adding frames or if system has a problem that the frame it was rendering when shut down goes back up to top were it belongs and that you don't need to manually drag them up. I can not tell how many times I have needed to add a few frames to a render and it adds them to bottom of the frames to be done list I have to drag them up to the top so they render out first so I can see the preview.

  7. I have not used cloth at all in a final render. So you are suppose to simulate the cloth before you render?

Now this leads me to think you need to simulate bone dynamics in V11 as well before rendering? or am I off on this.

  8. sounds like you might have radiosity turned on. You can check to see if you have it on by clicking on the chor icon and at bottom you will see radiosity.

How many lights do you have in chor?

  9. Well this sounds great! so it really is a automatic thing and they made changes to the dynamics of the hair guides. So any model were you made the hair guide longer by physically grabbing the guide and making longer on its own these models will need to have there hair stiffness re set or you will not get the desired results you originally had before V11 h?

  10. Instead of point 3 of buying a switch box, you could simply run VNC for all your render slaves. That way you only need an ethernet cable and electricity into your render box except when installing Windows on it originally. VNC is available here http://www.realvnc.com/

    Ragnar,

I have a render farm and have been using a switcher and I just went over a took a look at the link you provided to VNC it looks great. Thanks for sharing.

I would like to know are you using VNC and would like to hear how it works for you with net render?

  11. 1. Add a chor action2 and drag the red bar down to were you want the chor animation to take over from the walk cycle.

    2. set frame were chor action 2 starts to take over and now click on the chor action 2 in the project workspace to activate it so you don't make key frames in chor one.

    3. now your animation will be in walk cycle action set key frames in chor 2 to match walk cycle position by clicking on bones and giving them a tickle with the manipulator so you get a smooth transition to chor 2 form walk cycle.

    4. chor 2 needs to be at the bottom under walk action and it should be set to replace.

    That should do it.

I wish I had the time to do a tutorial on this but sorry to say I don't.

  12. This is a charity music video to help support fire fighters widows and children. Far Star Productions. Inc. donated the special effects and the editing. The Angel models were made by Andy Mulia and animation was done by both Andy and me. The editing was done by my production company partner, Elisa Llamido. If you would like a DVD or the cd you can order it through the America We Stand As One website. It is a charity so there is no set price to receive the DVD or the cd; they ask that you donate what you can and spread the word of Love.

    Peace!

  13. I posted to the forum about six months ago on this issue with 10.5 but no one seemed to be having the problem. Let me guess it seems to start happening when you hit about a eight light set up. I have always had the chor go dime when using Poissant out standing light rig. If you add about 12 lights it will hit a wall were when you add a light one will go out but then when you render they are all on. When i first posted on this subject Mr. Sutton responded to me that he was thinking I might be at my computers realtime capabilities with so many lights.

I feel this has been around for a long time. I also mentioned in my first post on this subject if anyone was having odd occurence when bringing into the chor a model with a lights in it or a action with lights in it into a chor and the chor going dark.

It is nice to see I am not alone anymore.

  14. To have your lights set up in a action you can just drag and drop the lights on after you have finished animation and final lighting in the chor. If you have the lights in the model you have no choice the lights are there weather you want them or not.

I have found that when lights in a action or a model are added to a chor it seems to really alter what the light scheme really is in final render so I prefer to do my final lighting for sets in the chor first before bringing on the action light rigs. Hope this clears things up for you.
