  1. I'd really like to, but I'm not sure I can afford it this year (both in terms of travel cost and in terms of the time my wife would have to take off to take care of the kids while I'm gone). Besides I already have plans to go to Siggraph since it's on the East Coast, and that might have to be my Hash fix for the year... :(

  2. My does that too (pc). Just click to locate another site and the right one should be there as another option.

Click where? In AM, or Tortoise? (Mac doesn't have Tortoise, but we have a command line client, which is what I wound up using last night... but if I can fix it in AM, I'll do it.)

  3. I get some major errors when attempting to receive via SVN on Mac OS X:

... argh, can't copy out of the SVN tab in AM!

It looks like the repository URL has somehow been corrupted (local path): seems to be adding the entire repository URL, including http://, to my local path, so it's coming out /Users/zbgeisz/hashmovie_svn/http:/project.hash.com.... etc.

Either I'm doing something wrong, or it's a bug.

  4. All you would have to do is strip down the original models (remove splines and remove/disable any dynamics).

And that's what I tried, but we're not all as skilled as you. (This is a sincere statement, not snarkiness.)

Besides, you basicly already have a proxy model, his name is Thom, he's in the TWO rigs folder.

That's a good point, but Thom's proportions aren't right, and thus would require so much post-proxy adjustment as to render him useless.

I would assume so, I was hoping I could get rig of all the facial stuff too.

That would be my assumption as well.

    Thanks, Mike.

  5. I'm assuming that the individual models, etc. from the Extras CD are free for use. But what about the component parts of the "project" sections? For instance, could I use Jim Talbot's leopard model, even if it's not out there as an individual model, but only as part of the project? (Hypothetically. That's not actually the model I'm playing with.)

I guess I don't need to ask permission to use the Soap Opera set. But still...

  6. So, are there proxy models for the characters?

I've been trying to animate a scene with Woot and a bunny and it's just excruciatingly slow. Move ... wait ...update ... rotate ... wait ... update ... undo ... wait ... move... etc. I've turned off all the dynamics and I'm working in wireframe to try and speed things up and it's still slow. Woot's like over 10000 patches. I'd wip up a proxy myself, but I'm afraid to dig into that rig to find the right bones to attach to.

I also attempted to make a Woot proxy, but couldn't get very far--I'm not a skilled enough modeler to know what to delete and what to keep. This is essential stuff. Although in the meantime, we could hit the 'B' key to do everything in bounding box mode. This will destroy the silhouettes, though.
